Jim went to the VA hospital this afternoon for his scheduled checkup.

They admitted him. His remaining leg is not looking good. Three surgeons will confer tomorrow morning
on whether and when his right leg will be amputated.

When I talked to him this afternoon, he consented to me asking for prayers regarding this latest health issue.

Howdy everyone!

No decisions have been made yet regarding surgery. Saw a couple more doctors, a surgeon, a podiatrist and a wound specialist today. Also they took some x-rays. The first hint I had that there would be no surgery today was when they brought me lunch. And it looks like I’m scheduled for dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow morning. Good signs. And good food. We’re hoping the vascular surgeon will see me tomorrow, but so far nine out of ten doctors have told me the leg has to go. The only one who said otherwise was the wound specialist. She cleaned up my leg and put a special honey bee dressing on the wound and explained what I need to do daily with it when I get home. I said, hey, I like the sound of that. She’s the only one talking like I’ll be going home with a leg.

My main doctor just stopped by. They’re changing some of my meds because my red blood cell count was dropping and that has them concerned. Well, we’ll enjoy dinner tonight and see what tomorrow brings.

Back to the “old methods” of using honey on wounds? That is a surprise!

I think of them as having a “Pill” for everything, whether it works or not.

Sounds like you better just enjoy the food...while you can get it! The diabetic diet has many limitations though.
