LOUISVILLE, KY (AP) - A small Kansas church known for protesting at the funerals of dead servicemen and women is planning a trip to Kentucky this weekend.
Westboro Baptist Church members say they plan demonstrations at three Kentucky churches in Owensboro on Saturday: the Blessed Mother Catholic Church, Owensboro Christian Church and Bellevue Baptist Church.
They also announced plans to protest at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church in Louisville on Sunday.
One of the Owensboro churches was the site of a suicide of a man who said in a note he had been sexually abused.

That it would. I unfortunately forgot the group of hero motorcyclists who do protest these freaks once in a while. I hope they do during this. I believe that it is very important to protest them right away after the Supreme Court verdict just to say sure Free Speech is ok but it is ok for us too.

Someone needs to get a hold of that special Israeli stink bomb scent, and put it in water balloons, or maybe a super-soaker. A little drive-by “shooting” might make the Westboro folk smell like they really are....

Israel has unveiled its latest device to control protests on the West Bank and it is causing quite a stink, literally.

‘Skunk’ is a specially developed spray that drenches protesters with a foul-smelling liquid.
“It’s very effective in preventing these demonstrations becoming lethal,” police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told Sky News.
“We don’t want youngsters, children or anyone to become hurt in a manner that is unnecessary.”
For some reason, life as a foreign correspondent seems to expose you to more than your fair share of bad smells.
Without question, Skunk is one of the worst I have had to endure.
But it is not toxic. In fact it is organic. That is the clever bit.
It means it can be used to drench protestors quite legally, say its Israeli makers.
“You can drink it if you want to. It’s a very good protein drink,” said David Ben Harosh, head of the Israeli police technological development department, and Skunk’s inventor.
Needless to say, I did not.
Is Skunk a safer method?
They know all about Skunk now in the West Bank town of Bilin.
For months they have been protesting against Israel’s security barrier. It carves up Palestinian land deep inside occupied territory, against international law.
Now they have something new to fear from protesting, having to go home smelling like a rotting carcass.
People in the village say it is next to impossible to remove the smell, completely, even after several showers.
Israeli border police point out their officers are regularly injured during clashes over the barrier and Skunk means they can avoid using rubber bullets, which have killed and injured Palestinians.
The Israelis say it will only be used when protests have turned violent, but Sky News has viewed footage of it being used during an apparently non-violent demonstration.
Palestinians say it is a degrading form of abuse and deliberately so.
“When they spray this thing on the people it make you feel unhuman,” Palestinian cameraman and activist Emad Bornat said.
“It’s a humiliation for the people. What’s going on? The people here are not animals.”
But Israel says it has already been approached by other countries, keen to try out Skunk for themselves.
Let loose the Skunks on the Westboro group! I gleefully want to hear and see pictures of this group getting fouled up!

One suspects that these DEMOCRATS are neither religious nor anti-gay; rather that they are inciting division, disrespecting our precious fallen and their families, and posing to be NON-DEMOCRATS.
I'd love to know the sources of funding for these fungi. One suspects that it's largely clandestine and DEMOCRAT at its core.

Phelps and his inbred family that call themselves a “church”, don’t deserve to use that term or “Baptist”. Their behavior is anything BUT Christlike and they are doing nothing but hurting the victims (family members of dead service men and women), and disgracing the name of Christ.
I in no-way encourage or condone using violence or even lethal force against such people, BUT - were I to sit on a jury of someone who had been verbally assaulted and harassed by these monsters, who had “taken matters into their own hands”, I would have a really hard time convicting them of anything beyond bad judgment.

There once was a time — within living memory, no less — when the arrival of a pack of pure knuckleheads like this would be met with a “vigorous” welcome by some of the menfolk of the town. These gents wouldn’t want to see their community’s good name besmirched, so they would defend it.
After a strategy session at the local watering hole, the gentlemen would go out and ... uh ... how do we put this ... aw hell, just say it ... BUST SOME HEADS! What’s the worst that could possibly happen? An assault charge? Yeah, I’d go before a jury of my neighbors on that charge, especially against this vile group, any day of the week, month or year.
But no more. Now we are too “enlightened” to do the right thing. Instead, we whine and wring our hands and act like little girls and hope for good press coverage. (Yeah, right.) Then the protestors get to drive off to go embarrass somebody else, like maybe the family of a fallen Marine, without a single bruise to show for it.

When there is a military funeral these punks want to protest, the funeral home/church/family or whomever should declare it to be an invitation only private affair, ticket required.
Then if they show up they can be arrested. No ticket, no free speech.

I would say that protesting like this in Kentucky, a state that has paid a lot more than it’s fair share in blood for the country, is pretty gutsy. Or suicidal.

I gather that there is no way to force the Westboro Baptists to change their name, but the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is listed in Wikipedia as the largest association of Baptists in America, and they have this to say about Democrat Phelps and his crew:

After seeing photos of Phelps with the Gores I now believe they are being paid by Dems to act as crazy Christians to help drag the people further from religion.
Yes, it only takes a minute's thought to conclude that if the DEMOCRAT Westboro fungi really believed what they write on their signs, these DEMOCRATS would go about professing it much, much differently.
I strongly suspect that these DEMOCRATS are double-agent poseurs, and that's why these DEMOCRATS are such pitifully poor fakers of what they pretend to peddle.
