You say - correctly: “ Also, we need a real conservative who the general public likes enough that we get enough voters in the center to win. When elected, our candidate needs to stay true to the right, not move to center left.

If we look to the GOP for our candidates, we will lose this country.

WE THE PEOPLE need to stand up and chose our ‘alternative.”

You want some who would “aggressively reassert American interests and discipline on the rouge states...” etc.

LOOK OUTSIDE THE BOX - NOT to the Establishment.

You want someone who knows who are enemies are “Foreign and domestic” - and who will name them and who will fight them - and who our enemies will FEAR?

How about someone who knows our Constitution backward and foreward? How about someone who loves this country and also knows the Bible through and through? How about someone who knows Islam line by line and will face them down - and political correctness be damned? How about someone with decades of leadership and a proved record of standing firm, even at great personal loss, for what he knows is right?

Would you like a person like that? Or just another good ole boy from the worn out list of Establishment candidates? That REALLY worked out great for us in 2008, didn't it.

How many of you can think outside of the box?

Here's just a few clip to think about - but while on YouTube, watch more on this man. (Israel wishes he could run for their Prime Minister.)

“Don’t blow sunshine up my butt and tell me it’s warm and fuzzy...put down the mike and go home!” (PC be damned!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkWXEvOenNY

idiot s laugh and joke about a Marine’s question, clueless. Only one person could answer him - who knows who our enemy is. It’s not a laughing matter.

at CPAC “NOW is the TIME

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mf33LIEt-g

on illegal immigration

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkGQmCZjJ0k

A Draft movement - save these clips and send to everyone and check out other clips on YouTube. A proved leader like this, who kow tows to NO ONE, is what we need. We need new blood in DC - NO ONE from the “Establishment.”

CLEAN HOUSE -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7RKIpufStQ

Save these clips in a desktop file and email everyone and post everywhere. The Establishment is afraid of Lt. Col West. The muzzies are. The demRats are and are doubly troubled because how do they use their favorite weapon: “RACIST! “

This man would hit the ground running - he's a seasoned leader, he backs down to no one, He loves this country and will defend our Constitution against ALL enemies, “Foreign AND domestic.”

Throughout history, at it's darkest moments, a leader will appear unexpectedly - “the man and the Time have met” There's a ground swell to draft COL WEST -

My chocolate lab could beat 0bama. Especially if a number of states require proof of eligibility.

Agreed, but we are in the minority on FR. Shame Pence dropped out. I will vote/give $ to the GOP primary winner and am pulling for Palin I guess, but it is an underwhelming field.

‘Shame Pence dropped out.’

Yes, with Pence we might have had a chance.

“We aren’t doing our job in educating the public”

Probably too late.
The “other side” certainly did ITS job insofar as “public education” is concerned. In the style of Gramsci.

Brings to mind the saying that it can take hundreds of years by which to build a civilization, but only a generation or two to destroy it.

“we aren’t doing our job in building the networks we need to reach the public and explain ourselves”

Hmmm..... I think conservatism has done as good of a job over the last 15 or so years that could possibly have been done, considering what its up against. Case in point: talkradio. Next case in point: the internet. What more could be done?

“We’ve ceded to our ideological enemies all the infrastructure of the war of ideas, we let them educate generations of our kids, and then wonder why our best candidates are unable to beat the worst candidate the Dems could possibly rally around.”

Perhaps it may soon be time to worry no more about “ceding”, but of “secession”.

Just sayin’....

Since when is “Mormon” code for “unelectable”, by the way?

Been around these parts lately?

The chart is pretty silly. For example, Huckabee's problem is less that he's evangelical then that his record is awful and he cannot escape his clemency grant to a man who murdered cops and raped children.

I'm not thrilled with any of the potential candidates but I suppose what I think doesn't mean a damn since CA is moving back to a JUNE presidential primary date if AB-80 passes with the excuse of "cost cutting" and "we didn't matter anyway."

This chart from The Economist is snarky and clearly meant to amuse more than edify ... but sadly, I think it’s largely accurate. Sarah Palin *does* scare people who haven’t taken the time to pay attention to what she actually says/said (as opposed to the version of her on SNL). *Just* the GOP can’t elect anyone. We need “moderates” and “independents” too.

My favorite on that list, Chris Christie, interestingly is listed as Electable. I know he has said he’s not running, but we all know that most people can be drafted if enough other people really make a fuss about it. Also, he really does not have as much experience as I’d like ... but compare him to Obama and he’s Mr. Experience. He’s very, very charismatic and a quick learner. He’s quick on his feet and not only does not need a teleprompter, but has been known to actually throw away his notes and deliver an amazing impromptu speech. And he’s on our side. We should be looking at Chnristie very seriously.

Let’s just say I think some of the posts you’re referring to aren’t going to have a big influence in the primaries or the general.

Sarajohnson, what is the post you refer to?

You may have misunderstood, I hope that is the case.

That said; You made a statement on this thread which would have me distancing myself from you and the horse you rode in on.

The dolts in DC know it, so it will not happen this time.

I have learned to never uderestimate the doltish capacity of dolts.

Yes, but will your chocolate lab be at least 35 years of age by election day in 2012?

I knew very little about West until your post, so I viewed the YouTube clips. Wow, this guy is on the money and has the spark that wins elections. I hope he can get more exposure so we and more Americans will think of him as the GOP nominee. The last few the GOP ran were sad and allowed Obama to slither into the office.

The Globalist wing of the Republican party is about to become extinct, or the Republican party will die with them.

We are not going there again. The nation cannot survive another of their failures of vision. Fn Traitors.

Unfortunately, I’m afraid you’re right. I hate The Economist, but I tend to agree with the pros and cons they list. Too many Freepers don’t understand that perception is reality in electoral politics, even though perception usually isn’t reality.
