(Madison, WI) Protests more aggressive than usual; police barriers broken down
The Badger Herald ^ | March 9, 2011 | Alexa Sunby

Posted on 03/10/2011 2:49:35 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Updated Thursday, March 10, 2011 3:46:18 a.m.

After learning the state Senate passed the collective bargaining portion of the budget repair bill without the 14 missing Democrats, the Capitol erupted Wednesday evening as protesters flooded the closed building against a court order.

The hearings where the Senate passed the bill lasted less than a half hour, prompting the building to officially close around 6:30 p.m. Protesters outside chanted in frustration, “Let us in.”

...DOA spokesperson Tim Donovan said law enforcement officers attempted to prevent forced entry from happening but were unable to because of the large volume of people.

“We’re disappointed that people who have been very cooperative over the past three weeks were not cooperative tonight and entered the building against the court order,” Donovan said.

Madison resident John Severa held a State Street entrance door open for an hour and said people inside the building rushed to the entrance to push the doors open for protesters outside.

Police responded shortly after to try to barricade the door, but their attempts were unsuccessful. After several minutes, police retreated while protesters cheered.

“I know police don’t want to be violent,” Madison resident Josh Olson said. “But tonight [the police were violent], and it was upsetting and disturbing.”

Olson said the decision to open the doors had very little coordination. He also claimed he was punched in the shoulder by an officer aggressively trying to stop the rush of people.

“Once people started coming in there was nothing police could do,” Olson said. “This is our house.”

Donovan said protesters also entered the building by jumping through windows. He said he was unsure if windows were broken because of conflicting information from several credible sources...........

Actually that is exactly what 0bama wants. He wants it to get uglier, then we will have renegade state governors, even perhaps renegade states.

Consider his now demonstrated stance on the protesters in the ME and North Africa.

What will the National Guard do? What happens when the glorious CIC places them under his control by Executive Order. Since the governors are using the National Guard against the peaceful union protesters.

They had hoped the TEA party would create the fallout, it didn’t happen.

Now, the left and 0bama’s own Organizing for America branch, are “ginning up the masses.” What useful idiots and pawns they are in their own destruction.

Our own government is finally showing its treasonous face. What a convoluted mess of propaganda.

"If this thing gets much uglier, Obama will be able to kiss his 2012 election hopes goodbye."

To the contrary, all leftist efforts will be used to stop the Wisconsin Assembly from meeting and passing the bill and these tactics are being tested to go national in the 2012 election to assure Marxist laws and policies to aid Obama.

Democracy IS mob rule..we have a representative Republic in this country..why would any rational American seek Democracy? James Madison stated that “Democracy is the vilest form of government”the protesters ARE Democracy in action.

The blackboard in Ian’s Pizza lists all the many countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas whose people ordered pizza for the students and workers who took part in the occupation.

Did their comrades at Ian's donate the pizzas to the oppressed, struggling to cast off the chains of their 6 figure government jobs or did those evil Capitalists bastards at Ian's charge for those pizzas? Did the protesters demand their portion of the profits from Ian's? Spread the wealth...and the pepperoni.

Police Department Sergeant Dave McClurg, who was protesting while off duty, said he was concerned with the dangers of security procedures during the Senate’s hearing. State law requires the Capitol to remain open after its designated hours during any public meetings.

This is a problem. The Sargeant needs to be fired. There is no way he is doing his job without bias when he is protesting while off duty. He is from Madison.

ROFLMAO!!! It says that they will BEGIN an 80 mile walk. Will they walk the whole way? I doubt it.

And on a side note, aren't the Government employees' actions showing all of us precisely why Government employees should not be allowed to unionize?

And in a brief Google search today, I find articles from the MSM with titles such as:

GOP rams anti-union bill through Wis. Senate

Did Wisconsin Senate choose nuclear option in collective-bargaining fight?

Wisconsin Senate GOP Votes to Strip State Workers of Collective Bargaining Rights

Wisconsin Senate Vote on Anti-Union Bill

And then I did a Google search to see if I could find any articles written after Obamacare was written. Surely I would find articles written by the MSM with titles such as:

Democrats ram through Healthcare

Democrats vote on Anti-American healthcare plan

Millions of Americans do not want Obamacare, still the Democrats found procedural ways to bypass democracy.

Did I find any such articles? NOPE!!!

My post was made (somewhat) in jest. As advocating violence is never the 'correct thing' to do. That being said, like with the Pentagon, the DOD and our National Defense Policy in general, all options are always kept 'on the table'.

Democracy is government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents

"directly by them" = democracy

"by their elected agents" = republic

We do NOT live in a democracy, olezip. The public schools have sadly taught right from the Communist Manifesto that you change the meaning of a word until it becomes important to go back to the original definition. So we'll live in a "democracy" with all the benefits of a republic, until they need more money, etc., and then they will go back to the original meaning of "democracy" and abolish your right to own private property; ergo, two wolves and a sheep voting on who and what to have for dinner.
