And now if we can allow just enough free marketeering to get re-elected. This is going to be a close call. Hiding our real intentions is getting hard. It ain’t easy being a communist in the White House.

Obama and the merry Marxists will cook the numbers until they get something below 8%. Doesn’t matter what it will take, bank on the “unemployment rate” being under 8% by 2012.

And I fear that’s enough to bring the squishy middle back to Obama.

I’m in the blue part of Ohio. I have a friend, who voted Obama. I asked him over the weekend how he liked Obama now. He sort of squirmed and admitted Obama isn’t very good. Then he said... I don’t think the Reppublicans will give us anything better.

If the GOP doesn’t find someone who inspires confidence in the squishy middle, Obama gets to come back for round 2 of the destruction of America.

The unemployment rate should be around 12% (or higher if you count the under-employed) but the government has done a wonderful thing, they no longer count people dropping off the unemployment roles after they have exceeded the 99 weeks of unemployment insurance. They are literally ignoring millions of people in order to get the rate down to 8.8%. It will be an interesting election, the government can say whatever they want about the unemployment rate but the true rate will kill them at the polls.

If this is true which is highly dubious, it explains why the MSM is pushing the new narrative that 7-8% ump is the new norm. This started last year and they are still beating the drum. If the GOP candidate for '12 can't beat Obummer senseless with this terrible figure, we deserve to lose. Obummer has been fully incompetent on all things economic.

No one thought the financial sector would collapse either, and then it happened. I don’t put much stock in those numbers, as a lot can happen in two years. Heck, a lot can happen over night, just ask the Japanese about it. We do not know what’s going to happen with their sovereign debt crisis, or how many T-bonds their insurance campanies are going to sell to pay for all that damage. Truely, what happens to them in many ways also happens to us. It’s that mutually assured economic destruction thing the world order set up to avoid war, not thinking about mass devestation from earthquakes.

On average, the 54 neo-Keynesian saltwater wet respondents — not all of whom answer every question — none of whom are known for accuracyall of whom work for banks and other institutions dependent on the government for survival and must therefore placate their masters by blowing smoke up their butts — forecast the jobless rate will be 8.8% in June and 8.4% in December of 2011 provided a whole lot of crazy things happen that have never happened before.*

* Greatly improved the accuracy of the article.

I don’t think that number will be true but it doesn’t matter. There’s no way he’s going to lose the election, no way. The media will see to that. Most people are like my praents, they swallow whatever CNN tells them.

If I were Palin I’d run in 2012, call him to the carpet every step of the way, sound the warning on the economy, run a good campaign and make history as the first female nominee of either party.

Then, looking prophetic on the economy, come back and finish the job in 2016. She’ll have the added stature bonus of being “former presidential candidate” in 2016.

When was it that I heard positive predictions about the unemployment rate before? Oh yes, it was what the “experts” predicted before that stupid stimulus bill.

See my posting titled “Predictions?” back in 2009 to see how all the Freepers were so much more accurate in their economic predictions.

However, if we can get a strong (in more ways than one) majority in the Senate, and keep strong in the House, we will be in a better position to survive a second Maobama term, should he happen to get reelected.

As long as the Dems keep power in the Senate & the White House, lying about bad news will continue.

There’s no way he’s going to lose the election, no way. The media will see to that. Most people are like my parents, they swallow whatever CNN tells them.

Yet, the mainstream media has virtually no credibility anymore. After the Gabrielle Gifford shooting, they broadcast 24/7 that it was the fault of right-wing extremists.

Yet, when all was said and done, virtually nobody believed it.

Do not over-estimate the power of the MSM. And be aware that, whatever power they might have, is shrinking every day.

My mother-in-law is like your parents. But that profile grows smaller every day.

LOL. That is what the MSM and the Dems want you to believe. This is defining deviancy down. First of all, the 7.7% would be considered very high unemployment unless you live in the fantasy world of Obama. And that is just the U-3 rate, not the U-6 rate, which would probably be double that.

Here are a couple of charts that should scare the hell out of peiple

Labor Force Participation Rate

Employment-Population Ratio

Obama was elected by Libs and independents. For independents to turn on him, they would have to admit they were wrong and that they are partially responsible for this mess. If employment turns around they will have the cover that they need to vote for him again. You under estimate the power of lib media, plus Obama’s oratory, plus indees compulsion to like him. It will take a charismatic conservative with fresh ideas and that person has not made himself (or her) known yet.

You miss the point. Employment is not turning around if it is 7.7% or double that if you use the U-6 rate. Obama and his MSM lackeys can spin it any way they want, but the fact is that the unemployment rate is high. You can't hide it. When your neighbor is out of a job, it is a recession, but when you don't have a job, it is a depression.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig. The recession that started in December 2007 has been over since June 2009. Our recovery has been the slowest in history.

No they won’t; they’ll vote for the Repub and tell their friends they voted for Obama (independents need to make a living/buy gas & groceries like everyone else). That is why Dems fear the secret ballot.

I don’t see Obama running in the general election in 2012; the Dem donors and candidates “down the ticket” from him have too much to lose.

It’s a fake number, so who give a flip what some statistician wannabe from some university.

The real rate of unemployed is easily 12% and with the underemployed thrown in, it may be around 19%.

With the price of everything going up and Obama’s abject and conscious failure to drill in the Gulf, he is going to hammered in the debates.

He is going to lose his keystone legislation “ObamaCare” and his Ox will be completely gored by the end of the year.

If he doesn’t say “I’m done” first.
