You answered your own question. RR could have blown Q-Daffy up along with the rest of his family but chose not to, because as wacky as it sounds, the replacement will most likely be worse.
Do we really know they want “freedom”? Maybe they just want to supplant Gadhaffi’s dictatorship with a dictatorship of mullahs and sharia. Just who are these purported “freedom-fighters”? Further, if they are trying to kill Gadhaffi, doesn’t he have the right to try to kill them first? I agree if they are just standing around living they should not be randomly shot. I really don’t think the residents of Libya are seeking some sort of kumbaya moment of democracy and love.
If that’s the case, then we have taken the right approach on this. No reason to bash the President over this, he didn’t want to get involved in Libya but our allies Britain and France wanted to do something so of course we have to support them. Or what are allies for?
The French may have shot down their first enemy aircraft since 1918.
