TOM Selleck has quite the temper!
The actor apparently flew off the handle when an extra on the set of his TV show Blue Bloods picked up a real gun and started pointing it at people!
The extra — who was playing a cop but had never held a real gun — was horrified when Tom, a lifelong gun enthusiast and board member of the National Rifle Association, spotted him and yelled, “Hey, YOU! What the HELL are you doing? That gun’s NOT a toy — stop waving it around!”
“Look at you…your finger’s STILL ON THE TRIGGER!”
According to American tabloid the National Enquirer, the extra then squirmed, “Is the gun really loaded?”
Selleck replied, “No, it’s not loaded. But when you handle a gun it’s common sense to assume it IS loaded, and NOT point it at people!”

I would imagine for the real weight and heft that promotes realism. Yes, you can get a prop gun that has the proper attributes but (maybe) it is his own weapon? If so, it works as a professional tool (tax deductible) AND for self-defense while in transit. I can think of other reasons, but for me that is sufficient - I will bet that it won't be "laying around" in the future though!
Totally with Mr. Selleck on this. Learning to handle firearms with Dad quote time - “Never point a gun at anything you don’t want to kill, because that is what it is for.”

That is a bad way to characterize Tom Selleck's reaction to an act of stupidity.
As a long time 2nd Amendment proponent, Selleck knows gun safety and didn't "lose his temper and fly off the handle".
He was scolding and teaching an ignorant actor how to handle a real weapon.
Blue Bloods is the best show of this season. Good family values. Really look forward to it. Wish they would stop moving it’s time slot though.
The pinheads in this story are the writer and whoever wrote the headline. His reaction was appropriate, and hardly a “loss of temper.”

There are such things as unloaded guns. It is up to the person holding it to know if it is or is not loaded. It isn’t hard to check, and there is no excuse for not knowing with absolute certainty.
You should assume loaded until you personally have proven beyond a doubt it is not. The only safety on a gun is the person holding it.

I had never heard of them when I went away to NIU in September, 1969. EVERYONE there had that album. Bought it as soon as I could find it. Ahhhh, the olden days.

The only answer to this question is “Damn right it’s loaded!”
Any gun you pick up is loaded until YOU take the correct steps to PROVE otherwise to yourself. And if it’s out of your hands or sight for even 30 seconds you start the whole process over again. Repeat as necessary.
That was my thought exactly! Why is the story about Selleck like he has an attitude? Tom Selleck was 100% right!
But I guess making this story about the jackoff who doesn't know his elbow from his @#$$%^& just doesn't make it into a solid reporting icon like showbizspy /s
Bull$hit. He didn’t lose his temper at all. That is exactly the correct response to some dumbass mis-handling a firearm.
