Yet it’s ok to have a photo of Christ in a bottle of piss?

Time to place a koran in a bottle of piss next to it. Pig piss.

I loathe Gen. Betray us. Detest him. Besides his "concern for his troops" being more important than our basic Constitutional rights; besides his burning Bibles so as to appease muzzies; and besides his support of gays in the military, we now see how Obammie will reward him...

What Pastor Jones did by burning the Koran, made our troops less safe. That’s just a plain fact.

Being on the same planet with moslems makes everyone "less safe".

Those sand rats don't need an excuse to act like the savages they are, it comes naturally.

And who gave him the “attention”? The media. What if I held a koran burning and nobody came? Would it be news? Would those savages even know what I was up to if the media just ignored my phone call announcing it?

Screw this, I’m sick and damned tired of compromising my rights as an American citizen because some in-bred savage half-way around the world is going to get his panties in a twist.

A FReeper suggested finding a title page from an online Koran, printing it, taping it onto some paperback book, and then burning it.

That is what I did on Nov 11 the past two years. I think it will be a long running tradition for me. That cover also makes a very good rifle target, if you add a big

+

in the center.

Incitement to illegal violence is not considered protected speech, nor should it be.

Cross-burning was classified, rightly or wrongly, by the Court as the equivalent of verbal or written incitement to kill people and as such not protected.

While I’m not sure I agree 100%, they have a good point.

****Where does one buy a koran and how much does one cost?****

Barnes and Nobel has them. Buy one if you wish. Then when you burn it, you will be burning your own PERSONAL PROPERTY. Who can fault you for burning trash?

Or you can do it a page at a time.

You can download a PDF of the Koran, but a word of caution, if you delete the file by placing it in the Recycle Bin, it automatically alerts people in Afghanistan that you deleted the file.

And you shouldn't have to compromise your rights as an American. What Senator Graham said is disturbing. As someone noted earlier in the thread quoting Voltaire. I may not agree with what you are doing, but I'll defend your right to do it. I think Pastor Jones is a jackass and I wish he wouldn't do these stupid shennanigans. However, I'll defend his right to do it. There's a difference.

If we had the proper ROE in Afghanistan, nobody would have even heard of Pastor Jones, even if he burned 10,000 Korans in the middle of Florida Field at halftime of a Gator Football Game.

***I just googled the words “free Koran” and it looks like several links where they are giving them away.***

I believe the real koran to be burned has to be in arabic. English translations don’t count to the moslems.

I would think the military would want more korans burned to flush the crazies out. Makes for a target rich environment.

As far as citizens in the USA doing the burning.....let's make one point clear as crystal. Islam is NOT a religion, it is a cult. It was invented in 750 AD because too many arabs were flocking to Christianity and abandoning tribal law and custom. So, islam was invented and every person within their reach that didn't agree with it or didn't embrace it as a religion was put to death.
We should be treating mohamedism as the cult that it is, and not fit to be in the same tier with Christianity or Judaism.

For me, soaking their manifesto in bacon grease and torching it on the front lawn is no different than burning "moonie" cult pamphelets. And if they want to riot in the streets and murder each other over there because of it then I'll start buying korans by the case so they can keep up the tempo until there are none of them left.

Consequences are one thing. Prohibition is something else.

“His website was shut down. The mortgage on his church’s property was called in and — what a coincidence — the church’s property insurance was cancelled. The city of Gainesville threatened to charge the church for protection.”

Well, yeah.
The website went from obscure to high traffic and undue problem for the ISP. Not what the hosting provider contracted for, ergo shutdown.
The church building is now at serious risk of arson. Pay up now, while there’s still something to pay for.
Likewise insurance: pastors are a low insurance risk, until one billions people want to kill him. Outside the contract, duly cancelled.
Extra police and fire and medical presence required now. Reasonable debate as to whether the local jurisdiction has to suck it up, or can charge him for undue needs.
That’s the consequences of such actions.

Outright ban, however, that hasn’t happened and is a very different issue if it does.

RE :” Yeah, but they didn’t do that out of respect for the cross, but out of “sensitivity” to our “diverse” population.

You understand my point? they are getting into hate crime logic while interpreting the constitution here,

Hate Crime : “having the wrong personal thoughts as motivation for some action that may or may not be legal in itself

Flag burning exclusion from the constitution: “Excluding certain speech (symbolism) from protection due to the assumed wrong personal thoughts as motivation for the speech by the SCOTUS

Although the hate crimes laws tend to used used exclusively for PC protected classes of people against unprotected, or those lower on the victim-ology hiarchy. The police are always investigating to find out if something was a hate crime (ie the races of the victim and victimizer.)

I like the trial of Mohammed idea. Lets put him up for examination. A lot of What Islam is today isn’t what old Mo taught long ago. He never urged women to wear Burkas. He married his friends daughter when she was age 5—but he didn’t take her to bed until she reached the ripe old age of 9. But—he did seem to love her and she did give him his only child—a little girl.

Koran burning should stay legal. Perhaps more should be burned rather than less. Islam is a violent, aggressive religion which needs to be challenged. Right now it is conquering decadent Europe without a shot being fired.

It’s amazing and sad that this is the state of affairs in 2011.
Let us also remember that these are the scumbags that blew up statues all over the place. From 2001:
THE world's two largest standing Buddhas - one of them 165ft high - were blown up by the Taliban in Afghanistan at the weekend.
These [swear-word deleted] are in no position to complain.

"However, we still need to be there because as far as we know, the leaders of Al Quada are still alive and need to be wiped out or they will be a constant threat to our security."

The war is no longer against Al Qaeda, it is against.... well, I'm not sure who we are fighting there anymore. We overthrew the Taliban because they were harboring Al Qaeda. We are now fighting on the same side as Al Qaeda in Libya and supporting Al Qaeda in Egypt and Yemen.

We are no longer fighting the mission we went to Afghanistan to fight. We are burning bibles and excusing terrorism allegedly because we have freedom of speech and religion in America and the Islamists don't like it.

So if we are fighting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, then why are we fighting on their side in Libya? Why did we support the Al Qaeda revolutionaries in Egypt and Yemen?

To paraphrase Country Joe and the Fish:

And its one two three
What are we fighting for
Don't ask me I don't give a damn
Next stop is Afghanistan.

IMHO our mission in Afghanistan ended when our own military started burning bibles. There is nothing left there worth dying for.

Good point!

My Bible says that “All scripture is God-breathed,” (modern translation), contradicting that clown who went on TV the other day to say that the Bible is “written by man” but the Koran was dictated to Muhammad by Allah.

Hmmmmmm...doesn’t that make all Koran translations invalid? Translations are necessarily subjective.

So get an Arab version, by all means. And hang it up next to the grill so you can start your fire with it all season.

That would be more blessed food than if you said grace before and after eating it, IMHO.

"So if we are fighting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, then why are we fighting on their side in Libya? Why did we support the Al Qaeda revolutionaries in Egypt and Yemen?"

We are fighting a combination of Al Queada and the Taliban in Afghanistan. Mostly Taliban at this point from what I'm reading. As for Libya, I reject your assertion. Sure, it has been stated that there are some Al Queada that are most likely fighting there, but the vast majority of these revolutionaries are teachers and clerks and defecting military. Regular people who want to see Gadaffi overthrown and democracy instituted. Could it be co-opted by Al Queada or the Muslim brotherhood? Absolutely. That's why I'm concerned with this hands off approach we have. I hope that CIA assets on the ground are not hands off and have identified who the possible leaders out of these revolutionaries can be. It's hard to know because we are not privileged with all of the info.

As for Egypt, the scare there is not Al Queada, but the Muslim brotherhood. It's a real concern. They could hijack the movement. I reject your assertion here also. The people that protested that lead to the ouster of Mubarack were regular people who just want liberty and not fear being arrested for speaking out against their government. Again, could it be hijacked by the Muslim brotherhood? Yes and there are some things happening now that may be disturbing. We need to be in there and get a handle on it (i.e. CIA). Yemen, I don't know much about except that their leader is pro American and I am very concerned with that situation.

One other thing about our involvement in Libya. We are out now, but Obama went to the UN and never went to our Congress except to send them a letter per the War Powers Act. Totally unconstitutional! At some point, he should have went to Congress for a joint resolution. If we go back in again as NATO will surely beg us to do, he BETTER go to Congress and the Republicans BETTER insist on it. To start a war is a political matter, therefore it belongs in the Congress. To prosecute a war belongs in the Commander in Chief’s hands and should never be political.

Wow, that's the first I've heard of it. It has been turned over to NATO, but the last time I looked probably 90% of the actual fighting force of NATO (the guys who are on the front lines) are US Servicemen and women. The only difference is that they are now taking orders from a Canadian.

We will be in Libya when I die of old age. We will be in Afghanistan for another decade. We should have gone in there in 2001 and kicked their butts and got out. Then we should have gone back in 2003 and kicked their butts and got out. Then we might have had to return in 2005 and kick their butts and got out. This nation building idea of Bush's was nuts.

Again, when the Military ordered the burning of the bibles, America lost its mission. From that point forward we have been treading water and protecting an Islamic regime that is destined to fall and be replaced by an even more repressive Islamic regime.

It's long past time we left there and let these Islamic tribal goons kill each other off. If they don't have American Troops to kill, they will be more than happy to use their bullets on their fellow countrymen. Historically when Muslims run out of Jews and Christians to kill, they invariably turn their swords on each other.

Uh, from everything I've read all American planes pulled out of this Sunday night. It is mostly the Brits and Frances show right now. That's why there's stories out there that NATO can't support this mission. Which is expected and a joke. I don't doubt that we get in again, but from everything I've read, we are not involved right now. Other than most likely CIA personnel on the ground which we'll never know about for sure.
