Washington (CNN) – Self-proclaimed birther Donald Trump is now so doubtful of President Obama's birthplace that he's sent a team of his own investigators to Hawaii in hopes of getting to the bottom of the issue.
That's according to Trump himself, who, in an interview with NBC, warned his investigators just might uncover "one of the greatest cons in the history of politics and beyond."
"I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding," Trump said an interview that aired Thursday Morning.
Asked if he has assigned people specifically to search in Hawaii, Trump said, "Absolutely."
The business mogul, who in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll is tied for second place among potential presidential candidates, also suggested the president is involved in an ongoing cover-up over the matter.
"He spent $2 million in legal fees trying on to get away from this issue, and if it weren't an issue, why wouldn't he just solve it?" he said. "I wish he would because if he doesn't, it's one of the greatest scams in the history of politics and in the history, period. You are not allowed to be a president if you're not born in this country. Right now, I have real doubts."

Doug Hagmann says it was from Obama’s lawyers to the media heads (including Fox and 3 other cable news networks, as well as radio companies) that they would be annihilated by FCC and anti-monopoly measures after the election if they allowed anybody to discuss the eligibility issue. He says the threats can be directly traced back to George Soros, David Axelrod, and Rahm Emanuel.
The media heads had meetings with their on-air personalities explaining the threat that was made and implying (according to a signed statement by one of the talk show hosts who was at the meeting) that their careers, lives, and families were all at risk if they or anybody on their shows discussed the issue.
Hagmann says he has corroborating schedules, notes, and statements by media staff and personalities to show that these meetings did take place and the threats were made.
When Hannity publicly supported Trump’s stance on the birth certificate issue, Soros responded by having Media Matters reveal to Politico’s Ben Smith their “guerilla warfare” against Fox, including an attempt to get “regulators” to act as hit-men on News Corp’s financial interests in both the US and Britain (which is outside of the reach of Darryl Issa’s House Ethics Committee investigation). That interview was reported 11 days after Hannity expressed support for the eligibility issue.
On his radio show the next few days (which is all I can see/hear since we don’t get cable), Hannity immediately called this an attempt to “intimidate” Fox personnel. And of course it is. If you intend to bring people down by guerilla warfare you need the element of surprise; you don’t announce a sneak attack. The reason they announced the plan they had already been carrying out for a while - at that particular time - was to reiterate in a very public way the same threats they had made before, that anybody who credibly reports on eligibility will have their financial interests attacked by “regulators”.
And I believe the specific mention of Britain was added because Britain is outside the reach of Issa’s investigations. Issa is hot on the trail of the FCC and whether they have been Obama’s stooges who allowed the White House to write the illegal “net neutrality” rules. On March 24th Issa wrote a letter to the FCC Chairman saying very pointedly that the “requests” of his committee are not FOIA requests that are subject to disclosure rules, but a legal investigation - and that they can investigate anything they want. Two days after Issa’s hardball response showing he would not be pushed around, the Ben Smith article voicing Media Matters’ threats to Fox was published.
IOW, in response to Issa’s investigation of whether Obama/Soros are using FCC for their own political purposes, Media Matters announced to the whole world that they were trying to use “regulators” as stooges for their own political purpose of bringing down Fox - and that they would get the job done in Britain if they couldn’t get it done under Issa’s watchful eyes in the US.
I hope "the Donald" has used his billions to surround himself with body guards at every step.

The real responsibility, though, resides on our U.S. Congress...it is their responsibility to ensure his eligibility. The weenies shirked this responsibility. Some say it was because they didn't want McLame investigated too.
If it comes out that he is not a U.S. Citizen, every single member of congress has egg on their face. Every single one of them has stood back and done nothing while this great republic has been absolutely diminished and tarnished and brought to her knees.

Why are you the ***only*** person denying it??? If it’s a known falsehood, can you produce not even *one* other reputable source debunking the ‘myth’?

My thought is Trump is an intentional opposing plant—he comes back later and claims he couldn’t find anything and thus ObaMao is legit. Or they threaten him and he just fades away.
Which is practiced and frowned upon at the same time, by Islam.
Maybe they are more worried about the "gay" coming out than the NBC issue.
He doesn’t have to “send” anyone to HI. Leave it to CNN to employ’ inside the box’ thinking. Trump owns a large hotel/resort complex in Waikiki already, and would know how to find local people to get the job done.
Why would anyone think outsiders would do the job? I’d use resources already on the ground and I’m nowhere near as smart/shrewd as Trump. I’d wager investigators were dispatched before the media heard the first word out of The Donald on this issue. As he says, he’s ‘a smart guy.’

I’d say that, if Obama was never authorized to hold the position that he has usurped, the Wise Latina and Kagan are not really on the Court either, and any rulings that were determined by their votes are also null. This could be the best thing in our country’s history if we can erase all the non-fiscal damage done by the Chicago communist.
If I am not mistaken certification means the process one goes through to get certified and then one is issued a CERTIFICATE. Also if I am not mistaken the HDOH guy who signed that CERTIFICATION resigned being the director (or whatever he was) from the HDOH some time back. He was part of the scam.
I disagree with your assessment that the risk of 0bama producing a long form BC is too great. At this point if 0bama trots out his long form BC, and it is legitimate, people are going to be irate that he toyed with the constitution and so many Americans for his own political gain. That strategy will backfire. Plus we want all of his hidden documents, not just the long form BC.
Trump strikes me as another Perot/McLame/Huckleberry/Romney who’s main purpose is to draw votes away from whoever is the Republican front runner may be in 012.

Don’t know if you saw it yet, but Miki Booth has posted a copy of a long-form birth certificate (her child’s I presume) at her Facebook page. It contains a March 15, 2011 datestamp and is signed by Alvin T. Onaka Ph.D. Can’t tell if it has the raised seal, but by most accounts, this refutes the faither lie about the state of Hawaii not issuing long form birth certificates.
