Washington (CNN) – Self-proclaimed birther Donald Trump is now so doubtful of President Obama's birthplace that he's sent a team of his own investigators to Hawaii in hopes of getting to the bottom of the issue.
That's according to Trump himself, who, in an interview with NBC, warned his investigators just might uncover "one of the greatest cons in the history of politics and beyond."
"I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding," Trump said an interview that aired Thursday Morning.
Asked if he has assigned people specifically to search in Hawaii, Trump said, "Absolutely."
The business mogul, who in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll is tied for second place among potential presidential candidates, also suggested the president is involved in an ongoing cover-up over the matter.
"He spent $2 million in legal fees trying on to get away from this issue, and if it weren't an issue, why wouldn't he just solve it?" he said. "I wish he would because if he doesn't, it's one of the greatest scams in the history of politics and in the history, period. You are not allowed to be a president if you're not born in this country. Right now, I have real doubts."

Ditto. I'm really sick and tired of having cranky posters reply to me with rude and offensive remarks, and it isn't even an election year. I'll probably be gone before the primary season, since their kind drives out the other kind.
My theory is they're sensitive and feeling guilty that they're sitting at their keyboards chirping into an echo chamber, rather than, as you mention, focusing on electing conservatives. That entails some work, rather than simply emitting opinions through the fingertips. We're all conservative, we all know what we believe, but what are we DOING about it?
For just one example, if 0bama runs for reelection, Dem voters won't need to vote in their primaries. Those of us in open primary states ought to be focusing on closing the primaries, lest our candidate be selected by those who want us to lose in 2012.
I wouldn’t want to speculate on the ethical consistency of these people. I merely suspect that when Axelrod switched to 0bama he brought gifts. Also, it wouldn’t surprise me if he left not on principle but because Clinton offended him somehow.
We’ll probably never know.
Can't agree with you there. After letting an American soldier be locked up for wanting to see it, 0bama can NEVER have an optimal benefit in revealing it.

Soros was at one time a big supporter and financial donor to Hilary. Her poll numbers had a huge negative number (and still do), so he switched to supporting Obama, particularly as Obama could draw nearly 100% of the black vote - an enormous number.
Axelrod went where the chance of a successful election was better, and so did Rahm Emmanuel. That Obama was a puppet became apparent later, as were his actual religious beliefs, his racism towards whites, and his enmity towards Israel.
In other words, the liberal Jews who supported Obama were played.

I’m reminded of my first indepth discussion of the death penalty with a full on moonbat. I would write something like, ‘This has nothing to do with the Law of Moses’. A couple of emails later she would respond, ‘I see you’re basing your entire argument on the Mosaic Law’.
The disconnect was literally that great. I’ve never encountered anything like that with a conservative. Only far leftists seem so completely unable to grasp the meaning of words that run counter to their beliefs.

I can see her engineering the whole Obama fraud from day one. Newspaper ads to announce a Hawaiian birth (Gotta get him US citizenship! It was helpful to have even then). Using her bank and court positions to enable identity theft and faked SS numbers. Fixing “foreign student” financial aid at Oxy and Columbia too?

A good guess. One thing I don’t see commented on much is Abercrombie’s attitude and body language when he was asked about Barry’s BC, following Hippo Mouth’s ‘investigation’. Abercrombie didn’t deflect the questions with calm confidence. He acted more like he’d seen a ghost [the ghost of Dem Electoral odds going down in flames, if the truth came out?], and he was spooked. He wanted to be done with the topic before he even started—and he wanted it bad.
I’m confident Trump will get to the bottom of it. Interesting times lie ahead, I’d bet.

I used to think what you two think, that it’s a risky issue not worth the risk. But the more I’ve read the more I’m convinced there is something real here. The BC is only the beginning. The school records. Why hide all those school records? Because they say Foreign Exchange Student?

I don’t think he has nuts....
I can’t remember specific instances, but, yes, you could put anything you wanted in the newspaper without independent verification (showing an actual birth certificate). This would be true especially in cases in which the parents were stationed overseas or lived in another state, but the grandparents remained in the hometown.
The births reported by the hospital to the newspaper, however, were official. The births of children to unmarried women, however, were not released to the newspaper. I seem to remember a mini scandal because one unmarried mother wanted the birth reported.
I imagine individual newspapers set their own policies in regard to birth announcements, but this was the way it was done in the early 70’s at two newspapers.
