How about the American "boots on the ground" go rogue?

Kill Ghadaffi's supporters and the rebels, then take over the country as a safe-haven beach head for Conservative Americans to escape to?

Ham said the operation was largely stalemated now and was more likely to remain that way since America has transferred control to NATO.

I'm confused. What is this "operation" that is "stalemated"? Obama said we weren't trying to help the rebels remove Gaddafi.

Libya isn't Operation Odyssey Dawn, it's operation WTF. It'll be even more so if Obama vetoes the pay bill for our armed forces.

Checked in at DU to see how the DUmmies were taking the news. In typical denial mode, they believe the General spoke out of turn without the knowledge or approval of our fearless leader. Ha!!!!!!!!!!

Will they get paid for their war-fighting?

We have to stop using our most renewable resource, our children, as pawns for the world conflicts. As it stands now, the world knows, or believes, that we will sacrifice our our children for their goals. If I had a child that wanted to go in the service under this administration, I would do everything I could to talk him/her out of joining up. Our government today believes also that we will stand by and allow them to put our kids in danger of death for some other dictator and tell us it’s for our own security. Our security in this world is, like you said, is our strength and the fear the we can and will unleash hell if we are threatened or attacked. But, that is the will of the people, not our government. So.....basically, that is what has to change.....our government and the people that run it and get people with cajones.

An increasing number of our troops are Latino mercenaries by another name; like the Roman legions, our military in being diluted by our neighbors.

Spike TV hasa that “warrior” show, where they simulate combat between different types of fighters (ninjas, pirates, etc.); I wonder who would win between Gaddafi mercenary and MS-13 mercenary?

I couldn't agree more. When was the last time the USA actually fought a war in its own defense, instead of being manipulated into to these nonlinear conflicts with impossible rules of engagement by chickenhawk neocons? It is all contrived BS to make a few rich and sacrifice many.

These kinds of wars can never be won. They just expend our wealth in youth and treasure. How can we expect our military today to spend 4 tours in a combat zone and come home healthy (mentally or physically) ? In Vietnam most RA tours were 12 months and most were draftees. Our volunteer military and their families need our help. I could name a few neocons that I'd like to see serving rather than their armchairing and conniving.

I'm in favor of purging the neocons from government under this administration, just as I was under Bush. They sit back and hatch stuff up, not for the benefit of the USA but for others.
