BREAKING: Computer Error Gives Prosser 7,381 More Votes, Almost Certain Victory
The Corner -- National Review Online ^ | 04/07/11 | Christian Schneider

Posted on 04/07/2011 2:47:44 PM PDT by dep

After Tuesday night’s Wisconsin Supreme Court election, a computer error in heavily Republican Waukesha County failed to send election results for the entire City of Brookfield to the Associated Press. The error, revealed today, would give incumbent Supreme Court Justice David Prosser a net 7,381 votes against his challenger, attorney Joanne Kloppenburg. On Wednesday, Kloppenburg declared victory after the AP reported she finished the election with a 204-vote lead, out of nearly 1.5 million votes cast.

On election night, AP results showed a turnout of 110,000 voters in Waukesha County — well short of the 180,000 voters that turned out last November, and 42 percent of the county’s total turnout. By comparison, nearly 90 percent of Dane County voters who cast a ballot in November turned out to vote for Kloppenburg.

Prior to the election, Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus was heavily criticized for her decision to keep the county results on an antiquated personal computer, rather than upgrade to a new data system being utilized statewide. Nickolaus cited security concerns for keeping the data herself — yet when she reported the data, it did not include the City of Brookfield, whose residents cast nearly 14,000 votes.

Throughout the day Thursday, official canvass numbers flipped the lead back and forth between Prosser and Kloppenburg. While many believed a recount was inevitable, the addition of the Brookfield votes for Prosser could push the justice’s lead beyond the legal threshold that would trigger an automatic recount. Under state law, Kloppenburg could still ask for a recount up to three days after the official canvass, but would have to pay for it herself.

More details as they become available.

This may be an ‘intentional’ error. We’ll see.

As long as computers count the ballots, the left will win every time, like it does in Oregon and Washington States.
State Legislatures should pass laws that we go back to precinct polling places, and hand counted ballots the old fashioned way.
Computers are easily manipulated. If a Republican is ahead, the computers “break down”, and when they come back up, the Democrat is ahead! Happens every time!
So let’s see some good legislation concerning our voting process. Vote by mail is open to fraud, too.

If you really want to screw things up, use a computer. And operators who are basically low-paid volunteers pressing buttons. And government procedures.

As I've told people before, it is no longer, "Garbage In, Garbage Out." It is really "Garbage In, Gospel Out."

Nice.

The only thing to make this better would be finding out they intentionally held them back in order to let the rats fudge their numbers first.

Private accounting firms are the answer, they put their reputations on the line, and if any fraud is found, it sinks the firm.

Do you think the Dane County officials will jump on a bus and head to Illinois so that don't have to certify the election results?

Hmmmm...I’d like some math egghead to tally up the statistical probability that the number of ‘errors’ in vote counts in the past 10 years could all ‘accidentally’ favor Dems. That’s all I want for Christmas.

But keep in mind that there is a warehouse of ballots in Madison. I’m sure it’s guarded by rats. One can only hope there are some pubs on duty, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

I am happy for the citizens of Wisconsin. And it is disturbing in how many apparent glitches occurred in this voting.

But it has occurred to me that this might be a blessing in disguise. These numbers WEREN’T reported, so the dems DIDN’T KNOW HOW MUCH TO CHEAT. Was this on purpose? I don’t know. It is interesting to consider that if this hadn’t happened, would the dems won?

At the end of these close elections, it has always seemed the Rats find votes that have not been counted, like the Rats were holding them back until they could see how many more they needed to win. Would not be surprised to see the Rats try to do it again, but 7300 more votes may be too much for even the always lying cheating demonRats to cheat this time.

But look for more evil Rats shenanigans!

My rather sizable gut tells me the Wisconsin GOP learned from the party’s “misfortunes” in other states’ recent elections and decided to come prepared for this one.

yep, but i’ll take it in this case. I find it hard to believe that she would have won by some 0.15% of the total vote in any case.

This is another reason that getting rid of the Electoral College is a bad, bad, BAD idea.

Imagine in a close national election having to go through each and every ballot in all 50 states.

But... that's completely unfair. How can Madistan know how many votes to fabricate if the GOP won't put its cards on the table on Election night?

All that work... all the bogus late-night vote totals oozing out of intentionally held-back precincts... all the out-of-state students and the fraudulent same-day registrations... the instant claim of victory as soon as the Rat pulls ahead... you mean all that was for nothing?

Heh heh heh.

Maybe you can teach an old party new tricks.

Have you considered the possibility that she did this deliberately so the rats would have a false total to “fraud” to, then she comes in with, “Oh, gee, loollee here. I forgot to send this entire city in.” That would be a case of NOT committing fraud but beating the rats at their own game.

I don’t say this happened, but the one sure way to beat the rats without cheating/manufacturing votes is to sucker them into only manufacturing a certain number of votes that they think puts them over the top, and then giving up your REAL totals after the fact. LOL! I HOPE that’s what happened. :) About damn time!

Those communist fascist progressives are going to try to kill this country every which way they can. And getting rid of the electoral college is one of them. I blame the dumbed down parents and kids who are not taught the foundations of their own freedoms.

More and more of “majority rule” is nothing more than MOB rule.

This is bull$#it.

Voting machines should be able to give out receipts, like credit cards.

One copy for a box, for manual recounts and a second for the consumer, which could be duplicated and sent back ..even the odd ad hoc would discourage cheating.

I just love the stench of liberal desperation...

Here’s a post from Daily Kook’s:

“WTF is wrong with the people of Wisconsin?????
One might as well give them a loaded gun. After all, by supporting Walker and Prosser they’re still committing suicide, only more slowly.
This election should have been a landslide for Klopenburg.”

Gotta love it...
And they haven’t even got the latest posted yet.
