DEVELOPING: Congressional leaders, with barely an hour to go before a federal government, announced late Friday night they had reached a deal to fund the government through the end of the fiscal year.

House Speaker John Boehner, speaking briefly to reporters after talks had concluded, said the plan was to pass one last short-term spending resolution Friday night to buy lawmakers the time needed to prepare and pass the final budget bill.

If they had proposed an extra trillion, we could have cut the budget by a trillion.;)

You nailed it. That's what they are now calling a cut.

FReepers will do the most good by standing with their leaders and saying, “Great! Keep going! This is our time; and we are with you!”

FReepers will do the most harm by creating the impression that as a nation we are already too far gone to redeem.

This is a great, great nation. It will take far more than 2 years of Barack Obama to destroy it. You give him more credit than he deserves.

This is not the hill to pick to battle over.

It's always the next hill. They'll start fighting real soon now. Keep voting Republican though!

Just wait till next month....and next year in 2012 we win....In 2016 we'll trash them! We should be proud of what's going to happen..They fight for us!

This is just a little war, we'll win the battle...I mean battle, we'll win the war....Yeah that's it!

Meanwhile, everyone get back to work, (if ya still have a job) and pay those taxes!

Move it!

I do think that we need to remind Bonher to “REMEMBER BART STUPAK”. Our next battle cry.
He just sold another million babies in a vain attempt to be “liked” by the news guys.

Funny, but not exactly accurate. It'd be more accurate to say that if they had proposed an extra trillion, we could have cut the budget by another $10 Billion or so. Maybe. Unless the GOP leadership thought that was too extreme, that is.

You got it! And we are going to find out that the “cut” of $390 turns out to be something like deferring car maintenance until 2012.

It's actually worse than that even.

To be accurate, the analogy would have the head of household crowing about his $390 "cut", which in reality was only a cut in a fictitious planned increase and they've really decided to spend even more than they did last year.

The reality of this situation is that the 2011 fiscal budget is NOT ONE DOLLAR SHORT OF 2010, but in fact is approximately $261 Billion dollars MORE!

I didn’t say you’re a DNC operative. I said some people on this thread sound like democrat operatives.

Read all my posts before you call me an “idiot.” It’s easy to get angry, act like a child, and call someone an “idiot”. It takes some effort and self-control to read their posts and find out what they really believe.
