Good grief people! Too many are jumping on the Trump bandwagon solely because of the Obama birth certificate.
Do you really want this man as your next president?
“Battle of the blow-dried RINOs.”
That might be what your stuck with... However it was Mitt that lost to McCrazy who lost to Obama. Why would we run loser Mitt again?
First they came for the decamillionaires...
Actually, the pendulum may be ready to swing back to a manly man. McCain was a wimp. Obama is flaming metrosexual. Trump stands in stark contrast to either of these two. He’s arguably much more assertive than Bush and IFP Clinton combined.
No- I do not, however, I DO want this subject (The BC) discussed by ALL Pubbie candidates. I have hope that this will happen to some extent, now. I'm also intrigued by his solution in Iraq: take the damn oil, to the extent of our expenditure there, INCLUDING compensation to our disabled veterans, and give the Iraqis the remainder, if any. Sounds right to me.
I have no problem with any of those positions. In fact those positions are to the right of just about any other of the current potential candidates.
Ron Paul will not run for President again.
That’s not how I look at it. I don’t look at Romney as a “loser”. That is what bothers me. He could actually win. He can BS almost as good as Clinton. Heck I’d probably find myself buying a used car from him — he’s that good. We don’t need a blow-dried RINO.
I will give this to Trump - we need someone fearless like him. But that’s not enough for me. I could never support Donald Trump.
He's smart, he knows business, he knows how to fix this economy & it is NOT about the birth certificate, I've listened to him in interviews, he knows what he's talking about. (unlike Bozo & Reid & Pelosi)!!
That's what happened in 2008 when people stayed home & refused to vote for McCain. Look where we are now!! If Zero wins again, we'll all be wearing burkas!
Agreed, Trump would be good with Hu and Putin.
You couldn’t trust Trump, so your vote would be for Obummer? Or, you’d stay home & same thing, Obummer wins?
Right now Trump is in 2nd place behind Mitt, but it is VERY early in the game. He’s been at this, what, two weeks & he’s that close to Mitt already???
Can you imagine Trump debating Barry O'Teleprompter???
Who cares. It’s good entertainment.
Besides, he’s not running....Again.
Excellent post, and as far as I remember a very accurate
representation of the BOR interview(s). Trump resonates with patriotic Americans, in his statements. But considering his past left-leaning political contributions/ inclinations, I DO have a question. Just exactly, where is he positioneed on gun control? Until I get a answer on that, I really must withold judgement, and consider him a New York Yankee.
“No, Palin.”
Good for you. I was 100% behind Palin until she caved on the BC issue. Saying it was not important was in my humble opinion a big mistake and the kind of weak cop out I didn’t think she would go for. Same for Bachmann and West.
Trump has showed them how it should be done, but he should not have needed to. They should have showed the fight Trump has as a matter of course.
Trump by his no retreat attitude no surrender towards the left and their mainstream media allies is showing what has been missing from the Republicans for far too long.
For that he deserves some credit.
Good read....White House Insider: Election 2012 How Obama Wins Who Can Defeat Him
Excellent analysis by Ulsterman, sounds right.
I think his victory speech where he says,”Barack Obama, You’re Fired !” Would be a hoot, but Trump’s policies are weak and misguided.
Tariffs and protectionist trade policies are a poor solution compared to simply abolishing the Corporate income tax and setting a flat 10% rate for all individuals.
Deciding on deportation on a “case by case” basis is wrongheaded. We either live by the rule of law or we don’t. That means all illegals need to be deported without exception. Militarizing the border is a good idea, but the minefields that would be required are probably not feasible over 2700 miles.
Opening up our own lands to oil and gas production would do far more than trying to dictate to OPEC what prices should be. Increase supply that is not under OPEC control, and prices will take care of themselves.
In short, Trump does not sound like he has thought about any of these issues as much as he should have before getting in the race.
Trump would get my vote in a heartbeat. At least he gives a dam about the US Constitution unlike the rest of the candidates that are too Chiken $hit to bring up where Obama was born. What you want to vote in another politician that has no business experience to spend us into bankruptcy?
Trump’s a liberal but he’s not a liberal traitor. I’d say that’s definitely an improvement. I also think he wouldn’t back down to the Muslims or anyone else threatening America. He’ll also take it to Obama during a debate and shove it down his throat. Domestically, though, he probably would mirror the Clintons.
Jerry Springer is not a natural born US citizen
Ron Paul thinks just like the Founding Fathers. I dare you to compare what Ron believes in the Roll of Government vs. The Founding Fathers. You will find out they are one in the same.
You just don’t like Ron Paul when it comes to foreign policy (that is where most Republicans disagree with him), but most conservatives on his domestic are 100% with him.
Regarding the Foreign policy we have Obama starting a war in Libya while he is on vacation with his family in Brazil. Now we are being told our Troops are probably never going to leave Iraq. Oh and if OBL is no longer in Afghanistan (which all intelligence communities agree to that (Pakistan/Iran)) then what the hell are we doing there and when are we leaving? Finally, how come US tax payer has the foot the bill in these endless wars? I understand why we initially went in, but it now seems to have no end to it. What’s more amazing to me is that we have to fund this why the other countries do not have to pay for squat.
You are entitled to your opinion. Its just one that I disagree with. He isn’t electable as a presidential candidate. He’s doing fine where he is - in Congress.
Trump 2012!
Trump is far from my favorite candidates. However, compared to Obama-McCain-Hillary he looks good. And he does not hate America. He makes some good points and he is not afraid to tackle subjects the media is pressuring us to avoid. He is not a sniveling coward like so many other poleticians.
Well you got Obama...and he has destroyed our economy, used our troops as pawns..I would vote for McCain/Palin over Obama and the idiot Biden
Don’t worry. He won’t run.
If it’s Trump versus ANY democrat, you bet.
Let’s see here...
On the one hand we have candidates who have never run a profitable business. This group have been involved in spending taxpayer money just about their whole lives. They look good, talk good, write good.
Then we have the community organizer who was never involved in anything of substance.
Or we have Trump who is a successful business person who is in charge of an organization that makes a profit, who manages several hundred people in a work force.
I would vote for experience over appearance any day.
Romney or the Huckster = Romney.
Romney or Pawlenty = Romney.
Romney or Santorium = Romney.
Romney or Jindal = Romney.
Romney or Palin = Romney.
Romney or Trump = Trump.
It is clear that the Rep establishment has already picked Romney. Even with the FR frenzy Palin cannot and will not win if nominated. I will take Trump over Romney any day, any time, any where.
Romney or Trump = Trump.
Trump is my first choice by far now. Compared to huck, romney, t paw, newt, and the others - geeez - trump deserves a shot.
Not to mention his slamming opec and saying “we have a muslim problem”.
I would vote for madoff vandersloot over obama if given the choice.
I don’t trust him. Period.
I’m not sure he’s running. He may just be having some fun.
Chuck Norris ain’t got nothin’ on Donald Trump.
When Chuck Norris goes to bed at night, he checks his closet for Donald Trump.
They call him “The Donald” because “King of the World” just didn’t have enough gravitas.
If I had to guess, perhaps it’s honest love for country, combined with a nice ego trip along for the ride.
Perhaps he’s figured that at 65 years old, he’s made his name, and his kids have taken the mantle. Therefore, he can make that final move to serve his country.
Or - perhaps he just wants to add “President of the US” to his resume.
Either way, he’s got my attention.
Excellent points.
Love him or hate him, Trump has a better chance to beat Obama than anyone.
In fact I’m a bit more optimistic than that person, in that I think not only COULD Trump beat Obambi, but if he runs, he will win in a near-landslide.
Obama’s running scared, you can see it in his eyes lately.
He now favors a market-based, selling-across-state-lines type plan now.
And repealing Obamacare.
I can easily live with that.
Not even in the same league.
People were excited about Brown because he could win in MA and was far better than anyone else.
We’re excited about Trump for FAR greater reasons.
But he WON’T run as an independent.
And Perot would have won as a Republican back in ‘92.
No, it’s not, but what’s the alternative?
Palin as nominee, who will get 35% of the vote nationally if she’s lucky?
(although I’m betting that she doesn’t run at all...and enough of her voters defect to Trump to put him over the top in the end)
Hint: That’s incorrect.
Personally he’s never been bankrupt. And aside from the early 90s, nothing else that has happened has involved businesses he’s owned that much of - most of what he does now is “lease his name” so to speak, in the same way the Ritz-Carlton does.
Ah, a fan of reality I see.
/sarc
If he’s the nominee, I’m voting for him. Would you prefer Obama?
Let’s dig down.
First, Huckabee won’t be running. So let’s say ~60% of his support goes to Palin, bringing her up to about third place. The rest of Huck’s support splits between Romney and Trump mostly, but a little to the others. In this case Romney still leads.
Newt runs, but drops out when he has a poor showing. He endorses Trump, who gets a bit over half of Newt’s former support. This brings Trump to a 1 pt lead overall over Romney.
Palin drops out, and helps Romney a bit, but by this time, Trump has the edge and gets the nomination.
It’s also not the state house in Juneau, but that doesn’t stop people from drooling over Palin.
