In-N-Out Burgers vs. Five Guys
Me | 4/8/11 | Oh, the huge vanity

Posted on 04/08/2011 9:32:29 PM PDT by Mike Darancette

5 guys just moved into town which is better In-N-Out Burgers or Five Guys?

From what I hear 5 Guys is better but for fries, shakes, burger taste and prices. What say you all.

But there is no drive through. The management has no satisfaction in you making an order and driving away.

I’ve given up red meat for Lent, so... I hate you.

But I’ve had both, and I still have to go Double-Double Animal Style. With a side of Five Guys fries.

I ate at Five Guys once. Didn’t care for it. Too greasy and I don’t like the fries.

I have a sister who lives in South Carolina. I'll ask her if she knows those two burger joints. That bacon dog sounds really good though.

In my home town, we have a place called Lawtons. It's Been there since 1929 and the hot dogs are as famous around here, as Nathan's is in Coney Island.

We have had In-And-Out here in Arizona for about 8 to 10 years now. The crowds when they first opened were outrageous! All of us California transplants were in Heaven.

We don’t have in-n-out burgers here. A 5 guys just opened up down the freeway and they are ok.

In and Out is very good for fast food. I've never tried a Five Guy's burger, but hubby had one and I tried one of his fries and they were pathetic and soggy.

Smashburger rules.

And In-n-Out has the cleanest kitchen, nicest staff and best service of any fast food (and most dine-in) restaurant in the country. Never got a wrong order. Never had anything less than a perfect experience there. Fast food heaven.

In and Out is expanding, They are in 5 States, Their strategy is to take on Five Guys.

They were were a very expensive franchise and that is the reason they were growing so slow in the past.

They are changing that and are looking to go into overdrive.

http://www.in-n-out.com/locations.asp

If you have a Five Guys that is successful near you, you will likely see an In-n-out open up.

Fat Burger doesn’t compete with either of these, they tend to open up where there are real burger connoisseurs and established burger houses with long waits

People would still like to go to their regular local fancy burger house, but the Fat Burger has a drive thru with almost no wait

"Never heard of either one."

You might want to get out more often. Between the two of them they have over 900 locations. I live in southwest Missouri and we have none anywhere near here yet I've heard of both. I can't for the life of me understand why somebody would want to go on a thread and say something that is essentially, "I don't know anything about this topic so I'm going to show what a dumbazz I am."

Well, you sound like someone who ought to patronize restaurants that don’t have a drive up window.

The free market has overwhelmingly confirmed that many people like the convenience and privacy that drive-up windows provide. You apparently are not one of those many, and instead think they are “pesky”. No problem, but here’s a tip: a drive-up window cannot be pesky if you don’t patronize restaurants that have them.
