6. Yanks on FR hate the concept of a limited FedGov™ and states rights.

I live in the South and can’t stand grits or sweet tea!

See now I love shrimp. But I’m not sure that dropping a glop of whitish grainy crud on them would be an improvement.

Sweet tea is OK but better without the sugar but when it comes to grits... pass the oatmeal. ;-)

I hope she mentions that the Democratic Party supported slavery and its expansion; that southern Democrats played the primary role in secession and the founding of the Confederacy; and that Democrats supported the Ku Klux Klan, segregation, Jim Crow laws, and lynching.

ther than slavery, the issues that precipitated the Civil War are still out there to be dealt with, and most thoughtful people recognize this. It’s not strictly necessary for the things to be viewed through the filter of the Civil War experience, but it’s reasonable that they would, and probably doesn’t do much harm.

I would add that this "unpleasantness" you speak off is the subject de rigor on FREE REPUBLIC, as it should be.

**Yanks on FR hate sweet tea and grits**

that was the most fun ... as a “””YANK””” walking in to a Waffle House, everyone there, of course, noticed immediately. They watched intently hoping to get a Laugh when the YANK tried Grits. So in my thickest Brooklyn Accent I could muster... “Wassamatta, Neva Seen a New Yahwkuh eat GRITS befouh??” Priceless

1. States Rights.
2. Blacks still enslaved by the Democratic Party.
3. Yankess still invading the South.
4. There still isn’t anything like Southern Sweet Tea.

I like sweet tea and grits. I also like biscuits and gravy too as well as country/Southern fried anything.

Nothing, but nothing, beats the Dinosaur Barbecue originating in, of all places, Syracuse NY and branched into Rochester and Manhattan. Upon moving to GA I was dismayed at the paltry stuff they call “BBQ” in comparison.

Why, thank you MissEdie - ya' can't beat southern hospitality.
Looking south of Myrtle Beach to north of Charleston. No lakes for me - I'm originally from "lawn guyland", brought up at Jones Beach. Would like to get near the ocean again, but oh, those nasty hurricanes.
Yes, I see what's happened to housing prices - all the more reason to buy now. Plus, I don't need a job!

Well, when you fry your bacon[with a little butter and onions] or sausage, save a bit of that grease for the grits.

I use about a Tbsp for my grits since I’m the only one who eats them. Once the water comes to a boil, add it in and then add your grits. Once the grits are done, mix in a bit of your favorite cheese and YUM!

“I’m a Yank and loooove grits.”

Now I’m hungry! Think I’ll make a big bowl for lunch.

I don't know if an Oregonian qualifies as a yankee, but if so...YOU TAKE THAT BACK! LOL

I could eat those shrimp grits I ate in Charleston every day!

The left and MSM is pulling out every tired worn out cliche from their playbook to destroy the tea party movement. They're terrified.

Dinosaur Barbecue ... branched into Rochester
I'm in a Rochester suburb and hit the DB as often as I can. "Finger lickin' goooood."
