Prosser campaign to Kloppenburg: Donít you think itís time to concede?
Hotair ^ | 04/12/2011 | Allahpundit

Posted on 04/12/2011 6:41:46 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

As of lunchtime today, 69 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties had verified their vote totals and Prosser’s still on track for a 7,300-vote lead.

Dude, it’s time.

The campaign of Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser is now saying that challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg should consider the heavy odds in a recount — and that the margin shifts that occur in them are quite small.

As WisPolitics reports, Prosser’s campaign released a statement pointing out that that the largest ever vote swing in a Wisconsin statewide recount has only been 489 votes. Prosser’s current lead is over 7,000 votes. “History does not provide a rosy picture of recounts of a half a percent or less,” said Prosser campaign spokesman Brian J. Nemoir. “While there may be a legal right to a recount, after a review of past‐results and consideration for the heavy burden upon the state, it is in the best interests of the state to have the common sense decision be made to avoid the unnecessary drama of a recount.”

That would be in the best interests of the state, but it wouldn’t be in the best interests of Democrats. The best interests of Democrats require senior citizens to humiliate themselves by pleading age and confusion after the fact in a desperate attempt to delegitimize the results of an election that the unions lost against all odds. So yes, of course there’s going to be a recount. And if they’re lucky, there’ll be some minor procedural quirk in some Wisconsin county somewhere that they can point to as further “evidence” that the vote was rigged. Let’s get on with it.

Via Gateway Pundit, here’s Kloppenburg the day after the election, before the Waukesha error was known, declaring victory for the second time already with a lead of just 200 or so votes. That was enough of a cushion to be confident in the result, apparently, but Prosser’s 7,000-vote lead? Well, that’s different.

It’s time for the dumbass bimbo to go back to designing and modeling all of her red scarves. The Supreme Court job was over her head anyway.

This whole episode made my month.

But Kloppenberg, she won't quit. The rules dictate that the loser concede, and leftists do not play by the rules.

Instead she'll become the toast of wacko rallies, b*tching incessantly about how she was cheated, like a certain national political figure I can think of.

Thats OK too. I hope she gets a huge ulcer.

RE: I bet No Kloppenburg concession ever.

My feeling is people are making a big deal out of Prosser’s victory or loss. Even if Prosser wins (or not ) I don’t think it much matters.

All the Republicans need to do is to repass the same bill to get around the current legal issue. Prosser or Kloppenberg don’t really matter in this case.

The main area of concern would be if Prosser loses, the 4 liberal justices could then wreck havoc on Wisconsin from then on (It would be like the current SCOTUS with 5 liberals outnumbering the 4 conservatives).

Dude! Where’s my vote, my second and third votes, my dead mother’s vote, and my undocumented worker friend’s vote?!?!?!

That’s just not fair, dude! I want a recount or I’m gonna have a temper tantrum and call all my Leftist friends to do the same! And if three or more recounts and protests don’t work I’ll move to Canada or Europe!

But first I need to light up a doob!

I don’t think passage of that bill a second time would be a sure thing, particularly if Kloppenburg actually won. Republicans have lost their nerve before.

I guess some folks haven't read the history of Christine Gregoire in Washington, or Al Franken in Wisconsin; the democrats haven't even begun their serious electioneering yet.

There are still boxes of votes to be discovered under copy machines, in the trunks of cars and basements of elections volunteers who inadvertently took them home with the cat food.

Not that I am a regular follower anyway but days
ago I gave up channel surfing trying to get the
411 on that election. I assume that those uncovered
votes did the trick for Prosser or otherwise the MSM
would be all over it like Chuckie Schumer on a micro-
phone.

How do all these north east coast liberals always manage to find positions in government outside of their states? Liberalism is like Amerika’s black plague of the dark ages and it is spreading. Stand Up America, while you still can.

I beg to differ; it is a very big deal. To go back and attempt to repass this legislation would be a disaster. First, it would give legitimacy to the RAT judge’s illegal injunction. Key here is a direct assault on the separation of powers. Why would you not think that that would be a big deal? Secondly, there is no guarantee that the legislature could or would produce the same legislation as is in law today. And third, don’t you think that maybe the megagaggle of union goons would be back trashing the statehouse and generally disrupting the legislative process? So to my mind retaining Prosser is a very big deal in more ways than I have enumerated.

Believe me, here in Wisconsin the Dems were cackling loudly that they thought Kloppingfraud was a shoo-in. Undoubtedly, it hasn’t hit her yet that she lost. She assumed her flunkies had arranged the right amount of votes needed, and she still can’t believe it.

Little known outside of Wisconsin is this race was about more than the budget repair bill. The liberals have been trying to remove Justice Michael Gableman long before the budget became an issue. They've been unsuccessful so far, but if Kleppenburg had won, they'd have the majority they need to have him removed. I'm not sure whether there would be another election to replace him or if the Governor appoints. I'll have to check on that.

This would have been a nasty election even without the brouhaha over the budget. The libs in Wisconsin lost the Governorship, the Senate and the Assembly - they will fight tooth and nail to try and take over the court.

Who cares? My only concern: Can Prooser rule on the law while this is in limbo? Or is the seat considered vacant/required to recuse?
