This is what the recession looks like in a country that’s decided to disinvest in public education. Reuters reports that Robert Bobb, the emergency financial manager appointed to address the Detroit’s bleeding public school system, has decided to send notices to all 5,466 unionized public school teachers. And 250 administrators will get layoff notices as well.

Robert Bopp was appointed by DEMOCRAT governor Jennifer "You Haven't Seen Anything Yet" Granholm.

Robert Bopp is himself a Democrat.

And even Robert Bopp knows the teachers union is draining what LITTLE wealth is left in Detroit.

I've just gotta smile.

Robert Bobb and Dave Bing are true democrats but they appear to be fairly pragmatic despite a few typical democrat departures from reality. Detroit could do a whole lot worse.

One of Bobbs first acts was to stop mailing paychecks to post office boxes. He found something like 200 non existent employees.

Oh bulls**t.

We spend billions in this country on education but unfortunately a significant portion of that money is wasted on chieftains and pensions.

According to the New York Times, there are as many students enrolled in charter schools as there are in traditional public schools, and there’s even talk of converting the entire district to charter school control.

Oh this should be good... we get to sit back and watch the Unions and the Democrat party consume each other. I’m reminded of “Escape from LA”, where the city got so bad they just walled off that part of the country and let the miscreants fight each other. Too bad we don’t have a wall around Detroit.

Republican governor, republican secretary or state, republican attorney general, republican house, republican senate. We picked up two US house seats. We also reelected one conservative supreme court judge and seated another.

I said before the election that the conservative wave would be bigger in Michigan than anywhere else but nobody believed me.

Last month we released nearly 20,000 home child care workers from forced unionization and deprived the unions of some $20 million annually.

It’s literally going to be murder on 7/11 and liquor store clerks.

Babysitting illiterate pre-thugs doesn’t have much economic value.

Dumping the edjamkaation union is just lightening the pig trough lifeboat.

Doesn’t Robert Bobb realize that it took teachers to educate HIM to the extent he’s qualified for his current job? Oh, the humanity.

One of the first things Dave Bing did as Mayor was to fire some 50 bus drivers who declared an informal strike.

He declared that bus service was unaffected and that their services would no longer be needed.
