If this date is correct, saber-toothed cats and woolly mammoth’s were still roaming around when this was built.

We did this one a couple of months back. Every now and then I look it up to see if anyone working at the site has dug up more statuary ~ but it seems not.

One thing that may reflect on this site (and the fact that it's buried) is that piece about Venus moon ~ an asteroid/comet captured in a 1:1 gravity duet ~ used to be that asteroid may have been locked on the Earth.

It seems that human beings may have seen this asteroid do some interesting things as it crossed Earth's orbit and made its first swing by/past/around Venus.

Recalling that Ishtar is Venus, and the early Babylonians (both the Sumerians and later the Semites) recorded movements of Venus and objects near or intersecting Venus carefully, this little guy may well have come along just in time for folks on Earth to have noticed its "tail" or "hair" and reported the intersecting event in the myth of Inky-do, Gilgamesh' big buddy in the sky. Inky-do, who was tamed by one of Ishtar's handmaidens (a temple prostitute) and brought in from playing with his wild friends (comets elsewhere in the sky), ended up being permanently trapped by Ishtar.

These myths are simply a way to remember the sequence of events and making them explainable to later generations.

One thought I've had is that Inky-do may have made several near passes of the Earth and actually traveled close enough to raise the Mediterranean sufficient for it to be pulled over into the Black Lake as an enormous tsunami. That'd give you a source for the mysterious "waters of the Earth rising to Heaven" in Genesis ~ as well as some of the later details in the stories about Noah ~ as well as an explanation of why the Noah/MaNu stories change structure as you move East toward China. There's less water, it lasts less time, and there's not all this business about water in the sky.

Eventually the orbit crossing comet/asteroid ends up further from Earth and gets linked up with Venus. It eventually disappears.

Now, back to the burial site of all the statuary in Turkey. It's close enough to the Black Sea to have been drowned by mudflows splashed up by the near miss with Inky-do!

Fortunately for the builders, the Saber toothed tigers and mammoths were living on the grassy plains FAR TO THE NORTH and had evacuated these warmer areas.

Here's the good part ~ the earliest dates are 12,000 BC. That's right there 1000 years BEFORE the Younger Dryas.

It would take another 5,000 years before people redeveloped an ability to cut stone like that as a general practice.

Whatever happened it was a total wipeout!

I think that was a to-scale slot car track.

Do I believe that early humans could have built this at a time that woolly mammoths still roamed the Earth? Absolultely.

Do I think humans could have built Pum Punku before the advent of lasers? Not a chance in hell.

Agreed.

Carbon dating is wildly inaccurate. The science behind it depends on many assumptions.

If you want to couch this in terms of Biblical literalism, the discovery would represent an advanced, antediluvian structure from the Enochian era.

That there are problems with dating assumptions derived from the various methods of testing, that’s about all one could assume in holding such a belief; that it’s buried as it was doesn’t exactly undermine it.

I’ve seen many youtubes - History Channel - showing very unusual structures, very well built, under water. The ocean must have been quite a bit lower quite a few thousands of years ago. Tons of other things. History is very different from the generally accepted timeline.

Since Christ is the creator of all things, the dino scene is in fact possible.

The painting is, however, impossibly tacky.

Those are sockets on the tops of the pillars - the thing had a roof or top stones like Stonehenge, and it was heavy but could slide off in an earthquake (& flood?) without some sort of ball and socket system. Also, they've confirmed that the whole site was deliberately buried to be preserved. So was the roof/tops taken off when it was buried? If so, where are those stones?

Great post, OP. Fascinating. At least 12,000 B.C., and how did they move such massively heavy stones, let along carve them so precisely?

Well, you're right, He was probably busy burying fossils shaped like dinosaurs for future paleontologists to discover at the time.

Saw a piece on this on television just the other night. What a fascinating find, and completely inexplicable by modern humans.

I think it’s become clear that the history of man on this planet is much, much longer than we know.

So was[sic] the roof/tops taken off...

It is possible that there were no roofs. Or that they employed wood/organic materials which had rotted and fallen in at the time it was decided to bury the site at some much later date. Maybe the old site was deemed "evil" by later settlers.

Yup. The ice age. When the ice age ended, the water level rose on the coasts a lot. 50 feet? 100 feet? 150 feet?

People live on the coasts now. All the ice age coasts are now underwater. There is likely a lot more undiscovered stuff underwater.

They're bent over due to the massive labor necessary to keep your tribe alive.

As I pointed out all you have to do is correlate the burial date with the observations of Venus/Ishtar maintained by the Sumerians and you got this baby licked!

Physical pole shift would explain some of the same actions. Actually, something passing close enough to the earth might have triggered a pole shift.

THAT is not something you really want to have happen again. At least not while anyone you love is still alive.

Let's say it was a HUGE asteroid type Earth grazer ~ and swooped by Earth low enough to pull up large tides in bodies of water. So it comes along from East to West over the Mediterranean. It moves enough water to cut a channel on the East end and open up a flow of water from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea basin.

That would give us a date for the burial of the site ~ and, koinkydinkily, an event that could be timed perfectly with the use of Sumerian astronomical observations. Following the catastrophe (about 8,000 years back) folks would have lost memory of the use of the funeral/memorial site.

I’m increasingly of the opinion that it’s more cyclical in nature, happening again and again, and that there is a not so minor element of this in the Biblical Revelation. You may still be correct, there are numerous astronomical/astrological accounts from practially all ancient cultures describing the orderly movements of the planets coming undone, but there’s more to it than Venus or Ishtar. That one seems to have been tamed into a safer and less eccentric orbit after a near pass with the Sun.
