Can't say I agree with him on much of his platform, but he represents a real choice and a real opportunity at a break from the status quo that has utterly failed us as a country.

He also draws oxygen from other would-be anti-establishment candidates, including Rand. At 76, with no real path to the nomination, there are better ways for him to contribute (e.g. point man to audit the Fed in a Palin/Cain/etc. admin.).

The one big advantage when Paul, Trump, and Bachmann are in the race is that it sets the tempo for the rest of the campaign and other candidates. Look what happened in 2008 when McLame, Mitt, and Huckabee were the dominate candidates. Neither of these candidates stood for anything nor gave a compelling reason to vote for them.

Now, all candidates will have to stand and deliver. Lastly, the country is in worst shape now than it was 3 years ago. We need real leadership and vision, not dry talking points and TV morning show appearances.

I’m glad he’s running. I will vote for him.

I believe he has polled better than other likely candidates against Obama. I think I remember Rassmussen had him at 41% to Obama 42% - and that was a little while ago. Since that time the inflation has really ramped up. I think he might poll even higher now.

Oh goodie, another whiny old man running for President .... Again. ..... I’m so excited.

That he respects the Constitution and hates the Federal Reserve, I like.... Too bad he is a loon on just about everything else.

One of my daughter’s friends who was an Obama voter has flipped to a Libertarian Ron Paul supporter. What the heck is up with that.

Anyway, a bunch of the young crowd is getting Pumped for Paul.

The biggest disclaimer I can find is his rhetoric too often seems contrary to his vote in Congress. He talks a good talk— and his minions are energized -but where it matters most -his voting record too often does not reflect the racehorse.

I’m glad he’s running. I will vote for him.

He beleives that the US causes Islamic terrorism. Do you agree with that?

Is he the one that claimed Dick Chaney was seen parachuting over Manhattan just seconds before one of the planes hit the Twin Towers?

Like Bowbama, Paul thinks all of the trouble in the world is our (USA) fault! He might be good on his domestic agenda, but he would be a disaster in the foreign realm!

“Can’t say I agree with him on much of his platform, but he represents a real choice and a real opportunity at a break from the status quo that has utterly failed us as a country. “

This applied to Obama too. It is embarrassing to see this no hope anti-semitic lunatic in GOP primaries with all his 16 fanatical supporters who vote 6,000 times in every online poll and behave just like dailykos kids and union thugs.
