(CNN) The White House released President Obama’s original birth certificate Wednesday.
The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

You said it for me. Trump didn’t waste five seconds before saying, (paraphrase) ‘If you released this, you can release your college transcripts’. Trump is just ramping up the pressure, and shows no signs of stopping. How good Freepers and conservatives can fail to applaud that is beyond me.

If Obama was adopted by Soetoro, there would be a Delayed Birth Registration due to a Legal Change of Status.
From Chapter 8, Section B-5B states, "The existing certificate and the evidence upon which the new certificate was based shall be sealed and placed in a special file. Such file shall not be subject to inspection except upon order of a court of competent jurisdiction or by the director of health".
The box clearly is labeled “Maiden Name of Mother,” that’s why...
What’s wrong with this one? It’s a copy (not “certification”) of the original. Looks like mine. For anything better you’d have to go to HI and look at it yourself ‘cuz anything else is a copy.

Why does Obama have a higher birth certificate number?
Please show me in that blurb from Snopes where Dr West claims to have delivered Obama. Barbara Nelson assumed something never stated by the doctor, at least not as relayed by Ms. Nelson. I'm pretty sure that any doctor in the hospital at the time would have been aware of other patients and other deliveries in the hospital.
Hey it was a round they both chose to fight in. But IMO Trump has taken the round by points....he did force Obamas hand.....OR the two are planning on throwing the whole fight in the end.
Fifty years ago, even currency had few security features. Non-currency documents were verified, at best, if they were on bonded paper with a watermark. It’s very likely that these government forms were not even that sophisticated.
The document released is clearly on a background that is different from the original. It is an image of a document in some book, but it clearly cannot be the original document. At best, the original was scanned into a database which used the security paper background. At worst, it is a forgery.
