Obama and Seth Meyers headline

Politics and Hollywood collide again at tonight's annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. The event has evolved into a star-studded affair as celebrities descend upon Washington, joining journalists and President Obama.

This year's comedian headliner, Saturday Night Live's Seth Meyers, is charged with the task of poking fun at the President and Washington politics.

Each year, the President uses the occasion to show a more humorous side as well, making fun of himself and the people who cover him.

The purpose of the annual dinner is “to raise money for WHCA scholarships and honor the professional recipients of the WHCA's journalism awards," according to the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) website.

C‑SPAN begins tonight’s live coverage with the red carpet arrivals at 6:45pm EST. See complete coverage at C‑SPAN's White House Correspondents' Dinner webpage.

Sarah Palin was viciously attacked without her name being mentioned on 1 occasion, then had her name mentioned 1 other time.

Ah. That's OK, then (for certain values of "ok.") Wouldn't want her to feel left out.

Have I ever mentioned how much I find the current occupants of the White House and most of the media utterly loathsome?

looks like Sarah Palin attended the Bloomberg after party. If those are her bare legs, then I'd say she needs to lay off the self tanner for awhile as that does not look natural.

The Trump ‘jokes’ were way over the top. Made me wince. Not funny at all.

The White House Correspondents Association? “Senator Kyl told me 90 percent of what they do is abortions.”
I couldn’t believe my ears.

Not really. They've made Trump taste his own medicine.

Trump will lose it on Monday, thus pushing him one step closer to his Howard Dean moment.

The Palins escaped unscathed. The Idiot-in-Chief went after Pawlenty (called him Tim Hosni Pawlenty), attacked Michelle Bachmann (said she is a Canadian citizen), and reamed Donald Trump.

Seth Whoever (never heard of him) attacked Biden, Trump, and Republicans in general.

It was a Hatefest.

After watching part of it back again as well as thinking back about past WHCDs (especially the one with Colbert), I have to ask - Why do the Republicans participate in this charade?

If the GOP was smart, it would hold a counter-event/dinner on the exact SAME night someplace else - maybe in a different city. You could create a charity their own journalism scholarships at reliably conservative universities like Liberty or Hillsdale. And/or, you could create a troop support charity of some kind. But, to participate in this annual in-kind contribution to the DNC, is RIDICULOUS. It gives to the media and their partners-in-crime, a kind of legitimacy by participating. A counter-event would have another long-overdue effect - it would finally draw a BIG line in the sand that conservatives and Republicans can finally say in no uncertain terms - Hey media, you're wildly biased and we're not going to pretend otherwise anymore.

Total disdain, with a touch of “I’ll get you for this, sucker!”

That’s the way I saw it. He maintained his composure and was very smart not to laugh at the vicious vindictive hits (which were not jokes but character assassination.)

Yes. It was pro-Planned Parenthood. In a roundabout way.

For the second time this week, Trump looked Presidential. First on BC drop day (with the live, ad lib taking live questions press w/helicopter blades spinning in the background) and tonight. He is not a candidate (yet) but he ruled that room. More telling then Trumps steely resolve in NOT ‘playing along’ was the wide shot reaction of those around him...fear of his reaction and more the WHCD topic tomorrow is Trump. NOT Barry...who btw, sounded small, cannot make a joke at his own expense...and his delivery (or how they wrote the words on TOTUS sucked). He has no sense of comedic timing...

And when Trump left he took Melania. When Soetaro left...well he took Me!chelle (and her wighat) along.

And the dilemma: who will carry it? Who will buy the commercials ? The bulk of the American citizenry are so apathetic and/or stressed out and/or 60% thumb sucking entitlement wombats and slugs, thanks to increased govt handouts, liberal/radical academia, and all constant print and television press lies and spin.

Now, things may possibly start shifting as this buffoon
in our WH increasingly shows the evidence of his total incompetence and anti-Americanism, or .. God forbid the terror risk here increases dramatically .. and folks get totally steamed at their financial futures and what/who’s making it so untenable == more critical mass.

And that would be helped and boosted immensely, IF ONLY there were brave, wise and savvy patriot warriors fighting for us on our side.

Dear God .. let it be so.

These liberals are not tolerant and loving as they claim, but they are vicious beast.

Trump, Sarah Palin, and conservatives have a lot of guts to attend that liberal freak show in the first place. I would not want to be among a big group of liberals in one place. I’d be afraid that God would take the opportunity and crack open the ground and swallow up the whole bunch of wicked beast in one swoop.

And the fool that was telling jokes about abortion has a special place in hell waiting for them. Murdering babies is not a joke.
