He said he was in college and then got a 1-Y deferrment which means he would have been draftable in an emergency. I too was in the first lottery and that’s when Trump got the 356 making the 1-Y classification moot.

Well, his figure may very well be correct, I am not an economist, and I do not even try to play one on FR.
I do know that it will be very hard to rekindle the work ethic in America, but, at least we have all those Mexicans that will work...right?
great, the press won’t even talk about obama’s selective service irregularities (e.g. an SSN that was from a state he never lived in, etc.), but knows that trump getting student deferrment then getting 1y deferment (not that anyone knows what for) is going to be a big deal. It is picking people off here right now, who have virtually no knowledge of the circumstances of his situation.
He apparently did finish school (unlike the perpetual undergrads I have read about). That right there says a lot.
By what year was it becoming clear that the war was so badly managed that going was not necessarily the smartest thing to specifically try to do? FYI, I think we are definitely well beyond that point in afghanistan now.
