NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- CNN said Friday that it has hired CNBC's Erin Burnett to serve as an anchor and chief business and economics correspondent.

Burnett will anchor a weekday general news program, as well as contribute to CNN's coverage of national and international breaking news, out of the cable network's New York headquarters. She starts in June and the show will launch this summer. The network has yet to announce the time slot.

Form a network with 100,00 viewers to one that has 90,000.

Erin’s cute, but she’s got a schnozzer on her.

Oh well, I killed my cable. Haven’t seen her in over a year.

This is an interesting decision on her part. Yes, she's going to a bigger daily audience, but really not by that much. Plus, when she was on CNBC, she had the opportunity to contribute to Today and MTP, which of course are ratings juggernauts. She doesn't get that chance on CNN, which has ridiculously low morning ratings and Sunday ratings.

I have a feeling when it's all over, she'll wish she had stayed put at CNBC, the only cable network that routinely crushes a Fox product, FBN.

She should take Mark Haines with her, or whatever his name is, he’s so obvious in his pro obama stance. Glad to see Erin leave, haven’t liked her since her snarky ‘monkey’ comment regarding President Bush.

In my cable market, CNBC is on the most basic of cable, while you have to purchase two extra tiers of channels to get FBN, or Bloomberg.

The worst Obama Administration sycophant is Steve Liesman, the chief economics correspondent. He is also insufferable as he deems himself as important as, and often smarter than, the people he covers. His arrogance is up there with Obozo’s. He’s the biggest Keynesian on the planet — more than even Paul Krugman, the emotionally retarded columnist for the New York Times.

The most entertaining part of CNBC that doesn’t involve cleavage is watching Steve Liesman give his spin on economic numbers... and then watching Santelli take it apart from the pits in Chicago.

Santelli is great.

No. The “Money Honey” monicker has been Maria Bartiromo’s for years.

Problem: CNN has determined that it has a shortage of on-air airheads.

Solution: CNN hires Erin Burnett.

Problem solved.

Mark Haynes died a few weeks ago, so he won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. CNBC did a non-stop full day coverage of him and his untimely demise the day after it happened.
