This was actually the right way to do it, as satisfying as feeding him to pigs would have been.
If you look at Al Qaeda’s tactics, their whole purpose has been to pick a fight between the western world and Islam in general, thinking that as the first ones to fight the west, they’d have a leadership role.

This makes no sense. I can tell you the Russians did not give Hitler a good Christian prayer and burial. No one who murders many is a member of any religion in good standing. Any good Muslim who is offended is insane. I am sure the Pope was not upset that Hitler’s body was not treated with holy respect, and any Christian offended by that was sick, too.
So, a Seaman has a choice. Follow orders and return to duty; refuse an order and create an international incident and face a court martial.
Not every muslim is the enemy.
