Pres. Obama has decided NOT to release any photos.
- Chuck Todd, NBC
You know, I was just considering Photoshopping my own pic of Osama, with the caption” “Why they REALLY won’t release the photos” - the pic would have Binny’s body, sporting womens’ panties on it’s head, being summarily dumped into the ocean.
There is no comparison whatsoever between Osama bin Laden and our servicemen, nor between Osama bin Laden and those contractors.
For about another twenty minutes after this announcement, and the clock is ticking.
This decision only took 2 1/2 days ! Good job! /sarc
Not only photos, but video of them doing the killing! Nick Berg ring a bell?
You really think re-releasing the COLB...was proof?
I don’t need a picture.
” Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaeda killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet, Rogers continued.
Yeah, Im pretty sure I can imagine how I would react because theyve already done it!
Post the damn pictures. Advertise them every day. Demoralize the enemy. Let them know and understand that if we can get their golden boy, we can get any one of those *(@#%s.
But Im just a dumb girl, what do I know about war.”
First off, I’m a girl, too, but there is far more strength and toughness in my pinkie finger than Obama has ever been able to harness in his life. He is weaker than a wet noodle. We girls are NOT weak.
About the photos —
Release the photo, print it into a poster to send across the world with these words: “This is what our military will do to the enemies of the United States.”
And for me, I have NO problem with treating Osama like a trophy. I do not care how Muslims feel about it, I don’t care how liberals feel about it, and I sure as hell don’t feel any shame in saying I am GLAD HE’S DEAD.
Incredible. No matter what the situation is, you can always count on Obama and Co. to make the wrong decision every single time.
For a while - I had as my tagline:
Only Obama could screw up the death of Osama bin Laden.
Who has the bloody carpet and blankets?
“The One will drag this out as long as possible”
I think you nailed it. Barry will drag this out to keep the focus off the economy. Also this attack fits in with the tea partiers/republicans are kooks and untrustworthy meme they have been working on for a long time.
MSNBC CORRECTING... but Obama still said Osama not a trophy.
*** UPDATE *** Here is what President Obama told Steve Kroft of “60 Minutes” about his decision. The interview will air on Sunday.
“The risks of release outweigh the benefits,” he said. “Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway, and there is a real risk that releasing the photos will only serve to inflame public opinion in the Middle East.”
“Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaida killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet,” he continued. “Osama bin Laden is not a trophy - he is dead and let’s now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated.”
*** CORRECTION *** Those quotes above are from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, not President Obama. (It’s unclear why CBS decided not to release quotes from the president in its story about the news.)
Here is what Obama told “60 Minutes,” per White House Press Secretary Jay Carney: “We’ve done DNA sampling and testing. There is no doubt we killed Osama bin Laden.” Obama went on to say that releasing the photos could incite violence and run contray to America’s values. “We don’t trot out this stuff as trophies... We don’t need to spike the football.”
Now we will hear this for three days...
0bama is saying that you don’t GET a picture “because I say so.” That’s ok with you?
“The Middle East loons will have a field day:”
By next week, the Middle-East news mags will have pics of Osama driving a cab in New York City.
This is NOT a smart move by our “Incredibly smart (Just ask him, he’ll tell ya) Dear Reader...
The Obama administration feels they shouldn’t put out any Bin Laden pictures because it will offend Muslims and put our troops at risk. Sure don’t recall them feeling that way about the Abu Ghraib photos.
So we can see photos of Mussolini hanging upside down, and Saddam being hanged.
But this is just too much?!?
Right after Obama’s Jan 2009 coronation, he invited DC insiders / punditry (both left and right) to WH for a cozy chit-chat, to which Dr Kraut was one of the party. I remember Dr. K saying Obama was very charming, and charismatic.
Ever since Krauthammers criticism of O rarely had the usual bite.
