I have not read all the comments here yet, but tonight I heard a report that the shot in the head caused his eye to pop out and hang, that the side of his head was blown off and the brain exposed. I have a son in Special Forces who has already served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and has 6 more years to go on a 20 year service. I do not think seeing such an exceptionally gruesome picture will discourage terrorists from even more extreme acts. I’m against showing it. Then again there are people who adore gore, and can’t get enough of it.
Wouldn’t there be many photos taken of his corpse? Clean him up a bit for a pic? Just doesn’t make sense.
It has nothing to do with gore. He was the most wanted world-wide. To just say he is dead is BS.
Hell, Bonnie and Clyde were ripped up pretty good as were many others in history, but there was never any compunction to not release a photo.

Un bee leavable! This is out there. Way out there!
Are you sure reality can even find this guy? /s
The gore is not the point. I hate gore. I have deliberately avoided all the photos and videos of the hostages who have been beheaded by terrorists. I never watch horror shows. I myself am NOT looking forward to seeing Bin Laden’s corpse, since I’m sure it looks awful. My point was simply that unless our govt. SHOWS the corpse, or at least photos of it, the rumor that Bin Laden is still alive will grow larger. That rumor already has a foothold not only on the jihadist websites but even on U.S. political websites such as this one. We must show conclusively that Bin Laden is dead, dead, dead. We must show that any terrorist who acts against us will never be able to rest easy, because we will not rest until we get him. It is an important lesson.
Opus? I'm not going anywhere. I hope. Thank you though I'm glad you liked it. Just kind of all came together after a day of thinking about the whole mess. That doesn't happen much.
Who really knows what's happening in the WH now? So many versions of every story come out I don't believe any of them. If it's a psy-op on the American people it may be working but I can't tell about that either.
It is indeed a psy-op on the American people. It is only working on about 40% of the people. The rest have some cognitive ablities and use the internet for varying views.
I do not believe one thing the WHite Hut has put outon this. We are supposed to believe these idjits just because they say so? Why? They have not earned that trust on their current record, thats for sure.
I get a kick out of AP. They published a widely accepted story that there were only two choppers....Black Hawks. They said one was demolished in situ, and that 25 Seals and their remaining ordnance , a dead body and seized evidence all flew out on one black hawk. I was waiting to hear a few rim shots when I read that one.
The UH-60 features a four-blade main and tail rotors and is powered by two General Electric T700 turboshaft engines. It has a long, low profile shape to meet the Army’s requirement for transporting aboard a C-130 Hercules. It can carry 11 troops with equipment, lift 2,600 lb (1,170 kg) of cargo internally or 9,000 lb (4,050 kg) of cargo (for UH-60L/M) externally by sling.
Early stories had it at 4 black hawks, 2 on assault and 2 loitering. They apparently used 3 to get out , and even then they would not have had enough fuel to get back to the Vinson. The truth of the operation is not being told and America knows it.Its not rocket science.
Well said, the entire post was very good & I liked this part but he is no man. He is something but hardly a real man.
I don't know, bro. I'm not buying a word of it either but I may lose my freaking mind if no one is going to call them on any of this.
The chopper count variations are truly amazing. I first heard 2 Apaches and 1 Chinook. Then it was 2 Apaches and 2 Chinooks. today I have seen two or three other accounts that other FReepers heard first and, like me, that's the one they tend to hold strongest to although no one here is buying much of anything.
Travis McGee heard they had 4 Pave Hawks which is the UH60 that you found too. But you heard a version with 8 total choppers. There's no end to this. Pretty soon it will come out that a replica of the Hindenberg accompanied the aerial armada to carry anonymous high-dollar WTF donors for their viewing pleasure.
Point taken. I plead exhaustion from the WH spin and rinse news cycle technique.
If the soldiers had helmet cams, shouldn’t there be video of him ALIVE, right before he was killed or whatever? I assume there would something like this, in this day and age - a video even if a live feed blacked out. Am I mistaken?
And just who have you heard say that they killed him? Which SEAL Team members have come forward to say this?
Sadly, you do not have a President in the White House. You have a guardian. One that is going to take care of your every need, and decide what you can and cannot do. Your liberal elite guardian has decided that you cannot see the photos. So that is that - because he said so.
Should be a new tv show - Obama Knows Best.
Well , the spin factor on this is abbout 99 %.
Iwas thinking about what that means. Could it be that the military executed this hit without presidential directive under standing orders that still existed from the Bush years?
Obama seems to be running away from this like a scalded
rabbit. He doesn’t want to upset his Muzzie buddies in the World Wide Caliphate movement.
Note how the Libya fiasco has receded from the news? Another successful Obama news trope?
It also may mean the military may have had enough of The Won.I have often wondered what a beginning US military coupe would look like.
I do not believe a thing Obama has to say on this OBL fiasco, and neither does America.
Result: plummeting polls.
When the truth comes out as it did in Watergate, the media will be a bigger loser than obama.
If the pictures are released, at least those who want to look, can look. Those who don’t want to, don’t have to.
That description sounds like something typical of Hollywood these days. I doubt it would shock many. I think they should be released, and at the same time, I doubt I would view them myself.
