I’ll take a successful businessman over a career politician every time. Unfortunately, we rarely get that chance.

I like Herman Cain....but I also very much liked Rick Santorum last night.

This all needs more time and the candidates need a lot more exposure.

Cain did really well and is very much a straight shooter. But realistically with Ron Paul and Johnson on the stage his answers were magnified. Santorim did well and Pawlenty had a couple decent answers but Cain was very good.

“He blew it with me over the bin laden photo debacle.

I disagree with his position on the photos, too, but I won’t let one disagreement turn me away from someone that I otherwise like.

I really hope he gains traction.

I agree. I enjoyed listening to him when he has filled in for Boortz. He can also run as the 'green' candidate: cut the first two letters off, and reuse the 2008 signs and bumper stickers.

Well Dave... he did not know enough about Afghanistan and the ME to answer questions about that and America cannot endure another President that needs On The Job Training. So it was not “just that”. I do think he has a great mind and is Conservative. He is not the leader to heal the damage the left has inflicted on America. I calls them as I sees them. My opinion and twenty bucks will get you a cup of Joe and a bagel. The difference between myself and kristol or krauthammer is... I realize it.

Cain, West, Palin, Bachmann -- These are 4 I can live with quite happily. Any two, in any order. You'll never hear me say a single negative thing about any in that group.

But I suspect that Romney will end up facing off against Obama, and I expect Obama to get a second term. Because America is lost.

With Herman Cain we can play the RACE card.

We won't have to.

The left will go out of it's mind insane and cross the line so far in opposition of a black conservative we won't have to say a word to accuse them. Their open hatred and racism will be obvious.

Remember what they did to Dr Rice? Jeez, it made me cringe...

Herman Cain will get it worse.

He was head and shoulders above the others! The rest of them simply delivered their stump speech talking points, and I am tired of them already.

Herman Cain will get it worse.

He can handle it. He'll laugh in their corrupt, hypocritical faces.

So will I. HA!

The problem with looking for a candidate with foreign policy experience is that they either get it with the state department or the trilateral commission.

I haven’t seen any other article about how far out ahead of the others Cain scored in the focus group.

The very last person on earth the MSM and Libs want to see heading the GOP ticket is Herman Cain. Throngs of lily-white "teabaggers" rallying enthusiastically around a brilliant, articulate black man just doesn't "fit the narrative."

They are going to savage Cain like no one since Clarence Thomas. They'll pull out the tired old Uncle Tom theme. They might even pull Anita Hill out of moth balls for this guy: "There's a pubic hair in my pepperoni!"

Cain remembers what they did to Thomas, and you know he knows what they're about to do to him. If nothing else, you gotta respect the guy for his courage.

Romney will end up facing off against Obama

I doubt it. Romneycare will prove too heavy an albatross. No escape maneuver will work. Romney is polling just OK and he hasn't even been subjected to a sustained attack yet. The real lesson of the Luntz focus group is that there are huge numbers of polled voters who have a very sketchy knowledge of who is out there and what they really represent. When the major campaigns launch, you should expect to see a major shakeup in the polling data as these same people start paying serious attention. Romney is flying on the fumes of 2008. My money is still on Palin. She's already been to hell and back and is still standing tall and still growing in strength. Cain would make a good VP. But would he throw Pentagon pizza contracts to Godfathers? Hmmm...

I don’t really get that mentality of folks believing there is some previous office occupant requirement for President. I understand there are difficult decisions to make as President, but the fundamentals are pretty clear and well illustrated in the Constitution. I can’t see how holding office previously would help that. I want a leader of men and a person who very clearly understands the buck stopping with him/her.

"If Sarah decides to run, I'll back her, if not, I won't go and pout, I'll find the candidate that matches my values {as best they can} and go with that candidate."

Same here. I see a lot of really good talent coming out on the Conservative side this season, so I won't be devastated if she doesn't run.
