NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals has reversed the first-degree murder conviction of Margo Freshwater, who spent 32 years as a fugitive before being recaptured in 2002.
The court said Thursday there was a "reasonable probability" that Freshwater would not have received a 99-year sentence had prosecutors not withheld information from a jailhouse informant.

The appellate court agreed with Freshwater's attorneys that the information should have been turned over to her defense.

How do cops and DAs who frame people defend themselves? Not saying this person is innocent, but there are a lot of innocent people convicted by crooked cops and DAs.
How do they sleep at night? How do they look in the miror?
I’m afraid prosecutorial misconduct is more common than we want to admit. I pray justice is done in this case.
If this woman was innocent, just imagine the hell she has been through for roughly FORTY-FIVE years. If she was innocent, her life was stolen from her. I said above I hope justice is done, but if she’s innocent, how does she get real justice? Temporal vindication perhaps, but justice will be in the Lord’s hands.
