Dealing with the pro Romney crowd took so much energy and time, I’m not ready at this point to start dealing with the pro Daniels group yet, carry on as you wish.
Rush was warning against falling for the same old Dem trick. If they want Daniels it’s because they think they can beat him.

O! Dear me! Thank you, kind sir! Now I may post as I like!
LOL!
Get back to me when you have an argument to make.

Yeah, I’m not ready to start having to wade through that kind of nonsense yet.
Right now I just enjoy noticing that so many of our old liberals names show up pushing the pro homosexual agenda on some threads, the pro Daniels candidacy on others, and the anti-Palin message on still others.
I really and truly thought that Ron Paul was and IS a candidate currently serving in Congress, from Texas.
Our Keystone President was apparently exciting enough to a majority of voters in 08. Maybe enough already with "exciting".
All we need to know about old Mitch....

He ain’t one of us.
Right now, someone new and/or not a career politician sounds good to me unless I have known him to NOT side with the RINO’s or DEMS.
I think Rush was making the point that if one wants to win a Republican nomination worth winning, one has to run as a conservative. Moreover, conservatives win the general election when they don’t dance away from conservatism.
I think Daniels will get the most competition from Pawlenty, who Morris didn’t mention. Pawlenty has already staked out a position to the right of Daniels and Rush was clear that all the candidates in the debate, including Pawlenty, were unapologetic conservatives.
I think Rush’s criticism is that Daniels is not talking like a conservative which means, he loses.
I think Daniels Achilles heel is that he was Bush’s OMB director and was the key architect in creating Bush’s deficits. He won’t be able to run as a fiscal conservative. He lacks credibility.
Hey, my dad was 5’2”. He was also a professional engineer, graduate of Carnegie Tech, a Lieutenant Colonel in WWII, a marksman and sharpshooter, and an elder in the Presbyterian Church. Daniels in way smart. I heard his speech at a recent CPAC meeting. It was the best I’ve heard any politician, Republican or Democrat, give in many years. The guy is a unique politician.
I’m all for an open field - the more the merrier. That way whoever does rise to the top will have earned it and will have been tested.
I’ve yet to hear or read anything derogatory about Daniels from conservatives like yourself who actually live in Indiana. That says something.
I have a hunch that the eventual nominee will not be someone who has served or who presently serves in D.C. I think he/she will come from the ranks of governors or the private sector. Running as an outsider will be a distinct advantage.
You suggest that social consesrvatives in the south will vote for Obama?
Dear sitetest,
Thank you for the information!
Good point. But were you aware the Democrat candidate has won a majority of the popular vote only ONE TIME as well -- in 2008.
IF Daniels runs and wins the nomination as the Republican nominee...I WILL vote third party!
I WILL vote, but not for the MSM choice.
But, if he does so by insulting the social conservatives, what has he gained.
I'm deeply bothered by a candidate who would essentially start his campaign by publicly insulting half his base, telling them he won't support their issues.
That's not politically astute. And it smacks of country club elitism, as well. It reminds me of...John McCain.
As far as I'm concerned, Daniels dug himself a deep hole that he'll have to climb out of if he's going to win my support.
No, they will fail to vote, finding one excuse or another to remain home as they did in 2008. Apathy for the candidate does not seem to yield to spite for the other, witness Dole vs. Clinton.
