The White House will end the practice of having presidents reenact speeches for news photographers, the Associated Press reports.
"We have concluded that this arrangement is a bad idea," spokesman Josh Earnest told the AP Wednesday.
The White House drew some criticism for reenacting Obamas history-making speech in which he announced the killing of Osama bin Laden.
Reenacting such moments for cameras has been common practice for years. Earnest told the AP that the White House will be open to new arrangements

...and in our next story, the president will stop taking credit for things other people did...
I’ve been told that George Washington did this on several occasions...and that Teddy Roosevelt actually turned it into an art form where he pranced from side to side before rendering the final 5-star movement. Many foreign leaders have taken this cue and hired Washington specialists in this field.
Speak for yourself, oBozo. If Sarah or Michelle or Herman want to do this on rare occasions when warranted, they will. None of this gall trying to lay blame on past presidents, or dictating to future ones.
George Washington? Before there was any technology through which the moment was to be shared? I guess it could have been for a painting-op. George Washington knew himself to be an impatient man and practiced hard at becoming patient. Sitting for a painting would have been in that vein.
I don’t remember that photo.
What did he supposedly “find” on the beach?
“Ive been told that George Washington did this on several occasions.”
Well sure. Any idea how long those portrait artists needed to get the basics down on canvas?
And I can see Lincoln getting called back after moving a bit during the 2 minute exposure with those old cameras.
..and in the next story, the president will stop spending money other people have earned...
All totally fake, just like him and Obama.
There are no rocks on that beach, so the brought some and scattered them around for him.
He then “found them” and arraigned them in a cross as a memorial to the Soldiers who were there.
It was all staged for his photo op.
Actually, it was a cross made out stones sitting there right in the middle of the beach. One stone was out of place, so our brave President Clinton stooped down and move the renegade stone back into line.
Turns out there are are no stones like that on Normandy, and that they had been staged there by the Clinton W.H. so Bill could get that touching photo op.
I suppose with 0, reenactment requires looking back and forth between teleprompters.
Dennis Haysbert (sp?) is an excellent actor. I have no idea what his politics may be.
It is very bad to drink Jobu’s rum.
I would be extremely suspicious of such claims. Times are truly different in that there is now a covert attempt to “decieve” through modern media. When Washington and even T. Roosevelt were in office, the effort would have been too great given the times. Of course this is just imho. (unless you can provide credible links to provide evidence of otherwise)
(sigh) Haysbert stumped with/for Boxer last year. Great actor, great voice...IMO, best man (among some other fine actors) in The Unit.
There is nothing more predictable than human nature. Jefferson and Madison knew that, hence their attempts to limit government. It was great while it lasted...I guess Republics always do this, we've lasted longer than most.
Too bad...just another member of the cult.
