(CNN) - Meghan McCain's taking it all off in a new ad.

The outspoken daughter of former Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain is appearing in a new public service announcement on the Style Network to warn against the dangers of skin exposure.

McCain appears alongside recognizable faces like musician Brandy and actresses Tatyana Ali and Danielle Fishel, among others, seemingly naked to promote the message that "If you leave the house without sunscreen, you might as well be naked."

Her, her mother and her father are all morons! Then again, the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree.

I don’t care much about Meghan, but I fell in love with Brandy years ago.

Before I retired, I wrote more that one column on reports concerning the dangers of sun screens and connection to cancer. (I had my own experience with this nearly 30 yrs ago.)

http://blogs.mercola.com/sites/vitalvotes/archive/2008/04/01/FDA-Refuses-to-Ban-Dangerous-Sunscreen-Chemical.aspx

http://www.healthguidance.org/entry/10212/1/The-Dangers-of-Sun-Screen.html

excerpt: “Many heavily used chemical sunscreens may actually increase cancers by virtue of the fact that they have free radical generating properties. In addition, many commonly used sunscreen chemicals have very strong estrogenic actions that may increase cancer risks as well as cause problems in sexual development and adult sexual function. It is a increasingly common occurrence since people began using chemical sunscreens years ago.

Make no mistake about it, the chemical compounds that are used in sunscreens were never considered benign. Many organic chemists have been aware of the dangers of these compounds since they were first used in sunscreens. These chemicals are widely used to start the free radical reactions during chemical synthesis. These chemicals are so dangerous that scientists are very concerned about keeping them away from their skin while working in a laboratory, and yet they are sold to consumers as protection.”

What’s the fuss. She has a body, don’t you. If you don’t like what you see, don’t look.

It’s for a good cause, why no mention of that. Does it make any of your lives better by trashing someones body just because you do not like the person it belongs too?

I’m a two time Melanoma survivor. And I can tell you that skin cancer is caused by poor nutrition. Yes, poor nutrition with waaay too much sun is a ‘possible’ contributor. But I can also say from experience that avoiding the sun also has it’s health downfalls, which isn’t pretty either. The country is suffering from lack of vitamin D precisely because of this disinformation. Sun is good for you! It gives life and vitality. It is a gift and should not be shunned. In all things moderation. Just use YOUR brain. The gov’t lives and breathes off fear, and this is a perfect example of their nonsense.

My point exactly, but there are so many on here who want nothing more than to act like liberals and trash talk someones God given body.

I honestly do not get it. If this is the best we can do as non liberals we are doomed

It will turn out that vitamin D deficiency will be the cause of tons of problems down the road.

My grandson's wife was recently diagnosed with MS. Her neurosurgeon recommend she take vit. D3 ( along with her other regimen.)

She had never liked to be out in the sun much - and it turns out the MS is related to the myelin sheaths that protect our nerves, when damaged, triggers MS. And what builds and keeps our myelin sheaths? Vit D.

And what is the BEST source of Vit.D? SUN.

the medical profession,oh so slowly, coming around to advising people to get some sun. (When my kids were little, the watchword was "Two hours of fresh air and sun a day.")

duh. Let's see: clean water, clean air, sunlight - and foods like our grandparents grew - long before it was called organic. I add to that: exercise in the clean air and sunshine, like walking, swinging, gardening...rather than in sweaty, stale air gyms.

IOW, What God provided for His children. I trust Him.

First, all my support for your conquest of melamoma. You are so right and Meghan McCain is so wrong.

Human kind and all plants and animals on this Earth were created/ evolved to take nourishment and energy from the sun. Do these idiots think you can live in a cave and be healthy?

Actually, it should be taken off TV.

I’m reading “The Vitamin D Solution”. It certainly appears that inadequate Vitamin D/ inadequate sun exposure contribute to MS, cancers of breast, ovaries, prostate and colon, heart disease amd many others.

I would hope, a 'non liberals' we were smart enough to keep up with information available on subjects that so directly affect our health. And with the incredible tool, aka the Internet, at our fingertips, there is now little excuse to remain ignorant in this regard.

Maybe you could start by reading my post #47 and Brandonmark's post #50...you don't have to believe us - that's just for a start. Let your fingers do the learning...

Yes, we may well 'be doomed' - out of lack of keeping up with information.

From what I’ve read, though, much melanoma is found on skin unexposed to sun.
