MADISON, Wisconsin (Reuters) The Wisconsin state Assembly passed a Republican-backed bill on Wednesday that will stiffen requirements for voter identification at polling places and was decried by Democrats as targeting their constituents.
The Assembly passed the bill by a vote of 60-35 and sent it on to the Senate, which is also controlled by Republicans. Democrats introduced more than 50 amendments, all of which failed.
The measure was expected to further split the partisan divisions in the state after the recent bruising battle over newly elected Republican governor Scott Walker's successful campaign to weaken public sector union bargaining rights.

a photo ID is a good first step, step #2 would be to dip fingers in ink. that would deter people beign bussed from one joint to another all day long, being handed a new ID card each place.

It did target their traditional voting block - the dead, the illegal, the fraudulent, etc.

Why didn’t the CSer Dems just leave the state again?

So for the D’Rats they write laws requiring citizens to show their ID at almost every public transaction yet they don’t want to require the same for voters. We know that song quite well.

I hope the Senate passes it and Walker signs. The more voter ID bills before the next election, the better.

The measure was expected to further split the partisan divisions in the state after the recent bruising battle over newly elected Republican governor Scott Walker's successful campaign to weaken public sector union bargaining rights. Then let them split. There is no more disparate view of the world than the Satanic demoncratic view and the common-sense republican world view. Why should we partake in their insanity with them?

I don’t get it. Why would Minnesota elect a comfortable majority of Republican legislators but a Democrat for Governor? (Other than the election theft?)

“and was decried by Democrats as targeting their constituents.”
Why don’t they help their constituents get actual id’s instead of encouraging them to steal utilitiy bills for identification?

The local media did a better job demoniziing Emmer than they did demonizing individual GOP candidates and Emmer didn't run that great a campaign.

Just like our former Wisconsin governor, Diamond Jim Doyle, did on several occasions.
STAY THE COURSE! The tide will turn, eventually.

The Republicans need to start passing "Ballot Security" measures requiring all voted ballots be kept in a secure location under the guard of a Police Officer and Poll Watchers.
This BS of "Oh look we found Ballots in the basement we forgot" has to STOP.
Any Ballots not keep in the secure location will not be counted. Anyone caught attempting to tamper with "Voted Ballots will go directly to jail and given a fair trial and nice hangin'.
Couldn't resist that last part.

Hopefully this will go into effect before the next election!

Perhaps the democrat governor was not up for re-election yet, but the legislature makeup shifted to Republican.
