N. Korean leader Kim Jong-il visits China: source

SEOUL, May 20 (Yonhap) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-il was visiting China Friday, a Seoul government source said, contradicting earlier reports that his heir-apparent son, Jong-un, traveled to the country.

The trip, if confirmed, will be the leader's third in slightly over one year. He had visited China in early May and late August last year.

It has yet to be confirmed whether the 69-year-old leader was accompanied on the trip by his heir-apparent son, the source said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

The name of the junior Kim was not on an official list of about 70-member entourage, said the source.

The latest report on his visit is that he was traveling from Tumen and now in Mudanjiang. Apparently he is traveling the same route he followed in his last visit, only in the opposite direction. Based on this logic, SK media speculates that he will arrive in Changchun eventually where some sort of summit would take place. However, we don't really know for sure. He can take an unexpected route. He is always mindful of people out to get him. Making his travel itinerary predictable is not his preference.

Monkey see, monkey do, shall we say?

I bet everyone is now up to their ears with grievances for the Chicoms such as “why freebies for him and no freebies for me”? Indeed in between two rocks in a hard place now for the Chicoms.

But seriously, were those actually freebies?

like I said, I’m no believer of free lunches. Speculations: Interest free credit, maybe, but I doubt freebies.

Another possible scenario: How’s about a promotional angle of say... for every 10 Ronald MacDonald sandwich, you get one or two free?

God! Will the Chicoms now cave in to Kimmy Boy’s demands and offer him the same Ronald MacDonald deal?

Looks like the Kims are making the “full kowtow” of “three kneelings and nine knockings of the head on the ground” to the Emperor.

“The more things change, the more things stay the same.”
