Reagan announced his candidacy on November 13, 1979. I wonder if Sarah will pay homage to him by declaring on November 13, 2011?

It would be difficult to wait until then, but it would be a lovely tribute.

Sarah Is In Good Company

Trisham seems to be jumping on anyone that makes any positive comments about Cain.

Not sure about the motive, but I do hope that Palin picks him as her VP. He has the knowledge, and the views needed to back her up solidly.

Palin/Pence, Palin/Bachmann or Palin/Bolton works for me.

For example, I’d love to see John Bolton as Sec. of State. Or, Herman Cain at Commerce.

I would like that too.

I would guess that right off the bat, Palin would probably have at least 43% of the vote in the general election.

OK....since we're talking about "guessing"....I'll guess that if she is the candidate for the republican ticket, and indeed runs in the national campaign, come election morning, she'll garner not over 23% of the popular vote, and about 10 or fewer electoral votes.

Okay that's your guess and I think it's a terrible one. History shows that most Republicans and most Independents leaning Republican vote Republican in the general election. As I said, that should give Palin some place on the low forties, right off the bat.

I won't even ask you what you based your guess on.

Cain has no experience. Nothing you can say about me changes that.

Should she secure the nomination, I would go with whom ever she picks for a Veep, trusting her reasons and judgement.

I like them all. Mike Pence seems a particularly good choice.

Except it might not be the right time. If Reagan had run in 1976, he might have lost. It was only Jerry Ford ineptness as a national candidate that cost him the White House. Incumbency is a powerful advantage. If Obama gets even the slightest improvement in the economy and nothing disasterous happens overseas, he has a good chance of winning.

The only negative I will offer is that none has been governor. Mike Pence is as pro-life as I think it’s possible to be, and he has an extensive record of service.

History shows that most Republicans and most Independents leaning Republican vote Republican in the general election.

Tho it depends entirely upon what you define as "history".....history shows nothing of the sort. You probably were not even alive, but do a little reading about Goldwater's 1964 run. You'll learn something.

As to my guess, know this, "that which can be asserted without facts, can also be dismissed without facts."

I am therefore dismissing your "guess"; as you can freely and rightly dismiss mine.

Now that both our guesses have been dismissed....however bad they may be....or untimely....or biased.....we've only the polls to help us along.

And now.....we're right back where we started.

Checking my old links, I meant Clinton/Dole 1996.

Were The Polls Right? No. Only Once In 4,900 Elections Would Chance Alone Produce Such Failures.

Nothing you can say will change the fact that Cain has loads of EXECUTIVE experience.

That trumps DC experience any day.

Putting him in the VP slot will guarantee Palin’s 2012 victory.

Right, just what we need is another POLITICIAN with experience. He is an American and NBC so that is all the requirements he needs. The only way we are going to break away from the political elites is to neuter them from all power, period.

Probably the most intelligent suggestion I’ve read all day. Cain has a lot to offer in this election, but with his cancers (survived liver and colon cancers, I believe), his lack of political victories (0-1 in a 2006 GOP Senate primary), and his hard-line position on abortion (none even in rape and incest), he’s not going to motivate the independents. However, he’s an almost ideal VP pick.
