Sarah Palin, Leader of The Pack

By Lloyd Marcus

So, who do I like as our Republican presidential candidate in 2012?  Parodying the song recorded by The Shangri-Las: "The liberal media is always putting her down (down, down). They said, she came from the wrong said of town. They told us she was bad. Then I knew she was the best we had. That's when I fell for the leader of the pack." Who am I singing about? Obviously, the one and only Sarah Palin.

Folks, it is a bit too early to go all in on any presidential candidate.  I really like Herman Cain.  But when I think of the one person who appears to be uncontrolled by liberal media attacks; who epitomizes the kind of "in your face" no holds barred approach to attacking Obama's horrific record, we Tea Party patriots are so desperately longing for, hands down, it is Sarah Palin.

I know. I know. Republican elites and conventional wisdom says, "Be reasonable. Palin is too toxic. She could never win. Pick an electable candidate like Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney."

When ObamaCare first became law, Huckabee said repealing it would be difficult. He suggested that we try to find some good in it. My mental buzzer went off, "Wrong answer".

On Rush Limbaugh's radio program, Donald Trump cautioned Paul Ryan to work with the Democrats and not be too aggressive about moving forward with his budget proposal. Again, Trump set off my buzzer, "Wrong answer."

"Working with Democrats" always means compromising our values, principles and desires. We want conservative representatives with backbone in Washington fighting on our behalf.  Yes, the liberal media will portray them as Satan incarnate.  But, there's a new sheriff in town called the Tea Party and we have our representatives' backs.

As for Romney, I do not sense a fire in the belly of this man about standing up for conservatism or the Tea Party.

The liberal media is planning a sequel to the McCain/Obama race in which they picked our "moderate" losing candidate.

Once again, the liberal media is telling us who is "too Tea Party" to win and why we should pick a moderate to run against Obama in 2012.  The title of the liberal media's sequel is, "Sucker the Conservatives Two: This Time We Really Think You're Stupid".

Let me tell you what I think about moderates.  Even Jesus had a problem with moderates.  He said, "You are lukewarm -- neither hot nor cold, I will spew you out of my mouth."   In other words, for crying out loud, have the backbone, character and conviction to take a stand for something.  The liberal media wants to set us up with another moderate linguine spine to lose again!

The 2012 presidential election is going to be all about Obama.  Thus, we need a candidate who understands this reality and will boldly go after Obama politically; someone with all American John Wayne true grit committed to Tea Party principles.  So far, our John Wayne is a Momma Grizzly.

As I said, it is a bit too early to formally endorse anyone.  Palin may or may not throw her hat into the ring.

Now, regarding the issues, Palin is pretty much on the same page as most of us tea party patriots; drill baby drill, smaller government and no new taxes.

And once again, I must cite her boldness and confidence when espousing her conservative beliefs.  You never see Palin dancing around questions from liberal media hacks trying to make her conservative ideas sound mean, heartless, stupid and racist.  It is extremely refreshing and encouraging to see someone on our side fearlessly challenging the liberal media!

And what about presidential charisma? In my nationwide travels on four Tea Party Express tours, in which Palin participated, nobody sparked excitement nor struck a stronger emotional chord with audiences at the rallies than Sarah Palin.  She is a rock star.  The people love her.

I pray that whomever we select as our presidential candidate will grasp the seriousness of the situation in which we find our country. Various potential Republican presidential candidates are good people with great conservative ideas to get our country back on track.  The most important critereon for a candidate to win my support is a willingness to launch a shock and awe all out assault on Obama's horrific record and terrifying agenda.

Obama has the bully pulpit of the Oval Office, his Democrat minions, racist black so-called civil rights groups and a sycophant liberal mainstream media, all working in concert for him to be reelected in 2012. America cannot survive another Republican presidential candidate committed to "playing nice" for fear of being called racist. As they say in AA, "Half measures avail us nothing".

If Obama is reelected in 2012, America as we know it is over. King Obama must be politically dethroned.

One thing I've never been accused of, hence my screen name. =)

Although, I do have many others things to work on.

But when we boot them out, they take it out on us and their successors. They ask, “What’s wrong with the American people?”

When we lose, we leave gracefully and ask, “What’s wrong with us, and how can we win back the electorate?”

[Although I admit that we probably should ask, “How do we prevent that kind of massive voter fraud in the next election?”]

Democrats and RINOs are "People of the Lie"

[Although I admit that we probably should ask, “How do we prevent that kind of massive voter fraud in the next election?”]

Thirty states have some form of Voter ID legislation, in some stage of passage. Voter fraud has to be cleaned up state by state. Thank you, TEA Party voters of 2010.

History shows that most Republicans and most Independents leaning Republican vote Republican in the general election.

Tho it depends entirely upon what you define as "history".....history shows nothing of the sort. You probably were not even alive, but do a little reading about Goldwater's 1964 run. You'll learn something.

LOL.

Your "nothing of the sort" remark is hyperbole.

You gave me only one election, way back in 1964, as an example that contradicts my claim. That was back when there were many more conservative-leaning Democrats who traditionally voted Democrat. That tradition, almost 50 years later is out the window. Today, most conservative-leaning voters are either Republicans or Independents who vote Republican in the general election.

Meanwhile I've given you 1976, 1980 and 1996 as examples that contradict your claim that the polls this far out are reliable.

As to my guess, know this, "that which can be asserted without facts, can also be dismissed without facts." I am therefore dismissing your "guess"; as you can freely and rightly dismiss mine. Now that both our guesses have been dismissed....however bad they may be....or untimely....or biased.....we've only the polls to help us along. And now.....we're right back where we started.

No we aren't back to where we started.

You're playing sematic games with the word "guess". One can make a guess based on no information and one can make an educated guess based on the information before them and based on the probability that that information is correct.

I gave you very specific information why I said that she would get 43% of the vote for starters, and you come back to me and tell me that my assertion is without facts.

And as I said, that 43% is just for starters.

It's also a bad choice in that Johnson was fairly popular as an incumbent at that point.

The better race to compare is Carter in 1980. Carter was an incumbent that had a poor economic record as well as being extremely liberal and he was incapable of hiding it during the campaign.

Logic n reason's "guess" is totally illogical and unreasoned.

Cain has a lot to offer in this election, but with his cancers (survived liver and colon cancers, I believe), his lack of political victories (0-1 in a 2006 GOP Senate primary), and his hard-line position on abortion (none even in rape and incest), he’s not going to motivate the independents. However, he’s an almost ideal VP pick.

Yes, Cain would make a good VP pick.

His liver cancer was a Stage IV colon cancer metastasis. That's a very serious thing. But he has survived 5 years, while about 95% of those who have Stage IV colon cancer, don't. He would certainly have to hold a press conference with his doctor on the subject. Perhaps he has already done that and I haven't seen it.

Eggs ackley!

According to Peck an evil person is characterized by:

*Is consistently self deceiving, with the intent of avoiding guilt and maintaining a self image of perfection
*Deceives others as a consequence of their own self deception
*Projects his or her evils and sins onto very specific targets (scapegoats) while being apparently normal with everyone else (' the illustrated parents of 'Roger' displayed insensitivity toward him selectively ')
*Commonly hates with the pretense of love, for the purposes of self deception as much as deception of others
*Abuses political (emotional) power ("the imposition of one's will upon others by overt or covert coercion"
*Maintains a high level of respectability and lies incessantly in order to do so
*Is consistent in his or her sins. Evil persons are characterized not so much by the magnitude of their sins, but by their consistency (of destructiveness)
*Is unable to think from the viewpoint of their victim (scapegoat)
*Has a covert intolerance to criticism and other forms of narcissistic injury
Most evil people realize the evil deep within themselves but are unable to tolerate the pain of introspection or admit to themselves that they are evil. Thus, they constantly run away from their evil by putting themselves in a position of moral superiority and putting the focus of evil on others.

That said, where has such a person been over the last two years while Obama and the Democrats in Congress have been destroying our country?

Where was Sarah when the 3 GOP-controlled Houses were spending at a higher rate than Clinton? There were numerous GOP representatives who stood firm against those budgets.

Palin didn't run for president in 2008. She was picked as a VP candidate. Any "conservative" who stood firm on those budgets and who publically fought against those budgets would have been more qualified to run for president than the McRudyHuckaMitt candidates that did.

Yes I agree very nice!

Check this out (countering the charges of racism in the Tea Party Movement):

I am a black performer/activist traveling on my third national Tea Party Express tour. We just finished our rally in North Platte, NE.

Two white families asked me to hold their new born babies and pose for pictures.

Excited white grandparents who are fans of my articles and music asked me to pose for pictures with them and their grand kids.

Numerous white patriots shook my hand with tears in their eyes thanked me for what I was doing for our country.

A white woman who said she was 86 years old gave me a big hug in thanks for my efforts.

Polatik, our young Hispanic conservative rapper, got his usual huge positive response from the mostly older white crowd. These are the decent hard working great Americans, Waters, Rangel and the left continuously attempt to portray as racist.
Snipped from this article Black Dem Race Exploiters Trash Tea Party which included this picture:

Cancer is no big deal once you learn the realities.

Reagan had very successful “alternative” cancer therapy in Germany during his time in office, and so can any other president. Its the butcher shop approach that makes cancer deadly.

>> “It’s also a bad choice in that Johnson was fairly popular as an incumbent at that point.” <<

.
Not exactly.

What was happening was that the country had finally been pulled out of the Great Depression’s lingering doldrums by Kennedy’s tax cuts, and so the general outlook was fairly bright. The only dark cloud was Viet Nam, and the MSM attacked Goldwater for stating the obvious in that regard.

Just weeks after the election, Johnson proceeded to do exactly what Goldwater had said was necessary, and the MSM said nothing.

GWB afforded [Obama] SS protection from the get-go. Won’t happen one bit for someone running for the republication nomination, for sure.

Correctamundo bump. Instead, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood will receive daily blast-faxes of the GOP candidate's daily schedule and itinerary, including security arrangements, frequencies, codewords, and photos of the Secret Service detail, private security and event staff, vehicles, and aircraft.

I’m way back trying to catch up. Logic, I believe you are pretty close on your projected voters that Sarah needs, Yet I think there may be another group who will prove to be a big plus for her. How many people normally come out and vote in a presidential election? 40%, 45? I know there are a whole lot of people out there who never bother to vote. Let’s call them the Wal-Mart crowd. All the “experts” have said that Sarah was not being “presidential” by going on TV so much. You know,The “Enquirer”, “Dancing with the Stars”, Sarah’s Alaska? Well guess what? She and Bristol reached the Wal-Mart crowd. They love her, because she sounds like a normal person and she has shown them that her family has it’s problems, it’s ups and downs, just like hers. They don’t like the “snooty” attacks on her. I’m betting that there will be people voting in 2012 who have never voted in their life, and I’m gong to be helping them get registered and to the polls.

Hi Nan!

I think you’re right about those people and new voters for Sarah Palin. You’re right to remind us of the ratings she got for her Alaska series and the votes Bristol received on DWTS!!!

Then there’s all those long lines of people who show up for her book signings. Just think about them voting and the people they will bring to the polls. They’re also all possible and probable small donors to her campaign.

God bless you! We will all need to be out registering those Walmart folks.
