Sarah Palin, Leader of The Pack

By Lloyd Marcus

So, who do I like as our Republican presidential candidate in 2012?  Parodying the song recorded by The Shangri-Las: "The liberal media is always putting her down (down, down). They said, she came from the wrong said of town. They told us she was bad. Then I knew she was the best we had. That's when I fell for the leader of the pack." Who am I singing about? Obviously, the one and only Sarah Palin.

Folks, it is a bit too early to go all in on any presidential candidate.  I really like Herman Cain.  But when I think of the one person who appears to be uncontrolled by liberal media attacks; who epitomizes the kind of "in your face" no holds barred approach to attacking Obama's horrific record, we Tea Party patriots are so desperately longing for, hands down, it is Sarah Palin.

I know. I know. Republican elites and conventional wisdom says, "Be reasonable. Palin is too toxic. She could never win. Pick an electable candidate like Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney."

When ObamaCare first became law, Huckabee said repealing it would be difficult. He suggested that we try to find some good in it. My mental buzzer went off, "Wrong answer".

On Rush Limbaugh's radio program, Donald Trump cautioned Paul Ryan to work with the Democrats and not be too aggressive about moving forward with his budget proposal. Again, Trump set off my buzzer, "Wrong answer."

"Working with Democrats" always means compromising our values, principles and desires. We want conservative representatives with backbone in Washington fighting on our behalf.  Yes, the liberal media will portray them as Satan incarnate.  But, there's a new sheriff in town called the Tea Party and we have our representatives' backs.

As for Romney, I do not sense a fire in the belly of this man about standing up for conservatism or the Tea Party.

The liberal media is planning a sequel to the McCain/Obama race in which they picked our "moderate" losing candidate.

Once again, the liberal media is telling us who is "too Tea Party" to win and why we should pick a moderate to run against Obama in 2012.  The title of the liberal media's sequel is, "Sucker the Conservatives Two: This Time We Really Think You're Stupid".

Let me tell you what I think about moderates.  Even Jesus had a problem with moderates.  He said, "You are lukewarm -- neither hot nor cold, I will spew you out of my mouth."   In other words, for crying out loud, have the backbone, character and conviction to take a stand for something.  The liberal media wants to set us up with another moderate linguine spine to lose again!

The 2012 presidential election is going to be all about Obama.  Thus, we need a candidate who understands this reality and will boldly go after Obama politically; someone with all American John Wayne true grit committed to Tea Party principles.  So far, our John Wayne is a Momma Grizzly.

As I said, it is a bit too early to formally endorse anyone.  Palin may or may not throw her hat into the ring.

Now, regarding the issues, Palin is pretty much on the same page as most of us tea party patriots; drill baby drill, smaller government and no new taxes.

And once again, I must cite her boldness and confidence when espousing her conservative beliefs.  You never see Palin dancing around questions from liberal media hacks trying to make her conservative ideas sound mean, heartless, stupid and racist.  It is extremely refreshing and encouraging to see someone on our side fearlessly challenging the liberal media!

And what about presidential charisma? In my nationwide travels on four Tea Party Express tours, in which Palin participated, nobody sparked excitement nor struck a stronger emotional chord with audiences at the rallies than Sarah Palin.  She is a rock star.  The people love her.

I pray that whomever we select as our presidential candidate will grasp the seriousness of the situation in which we find our country. Various potential Republican presidential candidates are good people with great conservative ideas to get our country back on track.  The most important critereon for a candidate to win my support is a willingness to launch a shock and awe all out assault on Obama's horrific record and terrifying agenda.

Obama has the bully pulpit of the Oval Office, his Democrat minions, racist black so-called civil rights groups and a sycophant liberal mainstream media, all working in concert for him to be reelected in 2012. America cannot survive another Republican presidential candidate committed to "playing nice" for fear of being called racist. As they say in AA, "Half measures avail us nothing".

If Obama is reelected in 2012, America as we know it is over. King Obama must be politically dethroned.

We’re up early! Huge T-storm awakened me. What’s your excuse? Work or something productive?

Your tagline says it all. I’m with you. Sarah all the way.

I've been trying to tell you guys this for months. Not only is she in it, she's the frontrunner (despite the Misleadia-fabricated non-polls designed to shape your opinion otherwise), and she's going to walk away with the nomination as soon as she "officially" announces.

Check the record. I have been pounding this drum for months now, and taking quite a bit of flak from the nattering nabobs and chattering chimps in the process. But, as in any great Victorian Romance, the truth will out and the righteous be vindicated long before the end.

Madame President Palin, your adoring throng and needy nation awaits you... tarry not too long, as time is quite short, and we've much yet to do...

As I've said before, if Sarah Palin cannot be elected in a free vote, then elections aren't going to get it done.

Lloyd Marcus hits the nail on the head!!! He has voiced my exact same thoughts. No McCain II! We won’t let them. I know Sarah’s only concern is for her family, the vicious ones are all out there.

If she declares, doesn’t her family get Secret Service Protection? Can they tolerate that? It’s a huge concern, and likely the only thing she is weighing on to make the decision. We must have her family’s back, we must respond to each and every assault in print, on TV..and sadly, on the street. I want her to run...but my eyes are open. We’ve seen it. We can’t let them do that to what could be America’s First family.

Without a doubt.

So who do we, as Sarah supporters, think is best in the field to be #2? I saw that Herman Cain officially announced last night. I like Herman as he has the same gut instincts to not couch his opinions as well.

While supporting her, how do we insure the next best person is supported enough to have the clout to be #2?

Moderates, lukewarm. I always mention to them (that is different from telling them and getting personal - got to konw how to deal with liberals), “that either people are part of the solution or part of problem and that there is no middle ground. Either one loves government spending or thinks spending is the problem. People have to choose between freedom from the regulation of government handouts (READ AGAIN: between the freedom from Regulation that goes with Govt Handouts), or accept Government intervention in their lives. Once Govt gets that “free” handout money pumped into the system, it is like becoming a drug addict for the people - they can’t live or just go along with the crowd.

Good morning Sue Rae! Yes, I think they will get Secret Service protection again. At least, I hope so, because she and her family will need it.

Yes, you’re right and I agree with 100 percent. We will rapidly respond to every assault on TV and in print and write to the pundits those parties out to harm her. We have her back, big time!

There’s only one problem with the “Leader of the Pack” analogy. In the end of the pop ditty, the parents (The Republican Establishment) break up the romance, and the Leader, distraught, drives off and dies in a motorcycle accident.

It just seems to be the most likely outcome. Romney and Gingrich aren’t stars. Most of the others simply aren’t well known enough to win in 2012. Palin is a star, and the most recent gallup polls have Palin’s recognition x strong favorability among Republicans clearly ahead of everyone else. All Republicans (96%) know her, and more have strongly favorable feelings about her than the other well known candidates. Huge rocketship zoom up to clear convincing victory just seems most likely. Palin or the Palin people here will spend their time in November or December or January that, yes, Cain is good, or yes, Bachmann is good, but it is clear that it is best not to argue who is the best conservative, but to rally around one, Palin, who does have the huge crowds, etc, etc. I think Palin will be successful with that. Someone else said that they wouldn’t be “needed”, and, if Palin’s in there, that’s a valid point.

I think the RINOs realize that Romney has a bunch of real problems, and are looking around for any number of backups. Gingrich and Romney, though, are the only 2 RINOs who are well known enough to win.

She will be able to avoid the land mines and gotchas that zer0 will leave for his successor. When leftists lose power, they get childish and vindictive, but she will foil them in Washington as she did in Alaska.

I don’t think candidates get S.S. protection unless/until they become the nominee. However, an exception was made in Obama’s case (as has been and is done with everything else about BHO); GWB afforded him SS protection from the get-go. Won’t happen one bit for someone running for the republication nomination, for sure.
