If Palin did not give that speech she would be finished today. the speech worked, it saved her political career, kept her in the running for the POTUS nomination and made Ailes look like the idiot.

Kinda looks that way now, doesn't it?

BTTT.

Palin’s rejection of Ailes’ advice is an excellent example of why I want her in the Oval Office. I’m sick of good conservatives getting trashed, and responding by bending over to take more.

More BTTT. Enough FReepers seem to be getting this, that it makes me wonder why Ailes et al. seem not to be.

Only a liberal would fall for this tripe. Christi is a Dhimmi RINO. The left fervently hopes that he runs. He’s “their kind” of Republican - Obama Lite.

That said - Anyone but Obama 2012!

Preferably Palin/West!

How did that turn the other cheek and not fight back work out for George W. Bush?

Exactly. The Clintons never did that -- just the opposite. Not that I'm a Clinton fan, far from it. But they had an iron rule, that they didn't let a political charge overhang the day's news cycle without a reply of some kind (for them, usually lies and misdirection).

Hell, the Clintons beat getting caught in a sex scandal, treason, perjury, subornation (the commodities thing), Arkancide, and actual impeachment.

So as between Slick and Poppy, who was the more robust politician? The one who answered charges, or the one who shut up and tried to walk past them?

Erratum:

For "Dave Garroway" in my post above, pls substitute "Arthur Godfrey", another early, early-morning host.

The point, for posters about Bill O'Reilly, is the same.

When I see shadowy references to republicans or others it’s a turn off and screams agenda of the author or rag they work for.

You're quite right to do so. But they're being fed this stuff. And here's a clue where they're getting it.

From a Jonathan Martin article on Politico.com dated Oct. 21, 2010s:

It’s not that Palin issues outlandish, rock star-like demands such as certain-colored M&M’s in the greenroom. At the events Palin does attend, officials say, she’s no diva; Kind and courteous is the more frequent description.

But the high-maintenance aspects of dealing with the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee have angered and frustrated some conservative candidates and aides who once thought highly of Palin and, for more skeptical Republicans, [Read: RiNO's] simply confirmed their view that she’s self-centered and unhelpful to the cause.

All of it has become fodder for e-mails and bar-stool chats among the tightknit world of Republican political professionals.
[Emphasis supplied.]

Sarah has a backbone, and this frosts the "pros" and Lords Ordainers who are used to ordering GOP candidates around like liveried manservants and stable hands.

So they stick knives in her out of personal detestation that she has character. And isn't a member of their tiny tree-house club.

That’s the strategy. If they can sow discord in the Right, Zer0’s poor performance will not cause him to lose the reelection. The poor performance of a splintered Republican Party will get him reelected.

If we lose in 2012, it's because the RINOs managed to stick us with another John McCain.
