While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
Have I missed it. I am now at 5:00p.m. Pacific Time. If not which C-span 1-2-or 3?
Thank you, GF. I guess we will all be able to see it on CSPAN2 LIVE or via the AIPAC LIVE stream on the net?
WOW. We have a very long wait!
Why is he getting shoved out of prime time?
I’ll take “Liberal Media types that love Obammy and hate Isreal for 1000, Alex”
Better question: Why is the crypt keeper on c-span?
I am so mixed-up now, I don’t know precisely what time our Hero is speaking, but I’m not leaving this thread!
Looks like its rescheduled to 9:30 EDT
I bet OMoslem has something to do with it, he most likely wanted to snub Bibi again, Our Sarah is going to have to do alot of apologizing for that douche when she becomes president.
He’s not my hero, but I have a great deal of respect for the man.
Let me clarify: he’s a hero, but not my hero. I know I am TOTALLY over analyzing this, but there is a major difference in the implied message between “a hero” and “my hero.”
And my clarification here is completely irrelevant to anything else said on this thread, you probably don’t care, and I don’t blame you at all for rolling your eyes at me. I just REALLY wanted to differentiate on the two forms of usage because it popped into my head. And it amused me. Feel free to ignore this post. ;-)
C-SPAN2 -— Netanyahu at 9:30 EST -— Both Harry Reid & Boehner precede Netanyahu
that was my first suspicion; terrible to be so cynical; lol
Netanyahu was scheduled for 8:45-9pm since this morning; something changed. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if Netanyahu takes the stage before 10pm.
I sure am not going to watch Dirty Mind Harry...lol. Will be here for Bibi though. Time to finish supper now. See ya in a bit!
Looking at this photo, I ask myself, Why is Sarah not our President?
Stupid MTV viewers and the like.
They started the program, singing the National Anthem at this time.
Did you also see that Al Franken was in the audience?
There was a great turn around in 2010. Hopefully, it will continue on for the Presidential Election. Look at what just happened in Spain. They just had the biggest political turn around in 30 years. Let’s pray people will wise up and see through the manipulative hold he has on some.
