Report: Former Presidential Candidate John Edwards Faces Indictment for Campaign Violations
Published May 25, 2011 | NewsCore
WASHINGTON -- Prosecutors can seek an indictment against former North Carolina Senator and two-time Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards for allegedly using campaign donations to cover up an extra-marital affair and love child, ABC News reported late Tuesday.
The network, citing sources, said the Department of Justice has given the go-ahead for Edwards to be prosecuted and the former politician has been informed of the development.
Edwards may now accept a plea deal or face trial.

Total waste in time to send this guy to prison. If I were the judge....I’d be creative here. Make him pay the fine, and then make him work six months in some soup kitchen in Cleveland or Detroit. We don’t need guys like this taking up space in prisons.

And there’s the corollary to this story where the State-Run Media knew all about Edwards’ affair, but chose not to report on it.

I don't really care how democrats piss away their campaign donations, if he misspent federal matching funds, I'd have to reassess that. If not, a guilty verdict and a sentence like you propose would be enough.

Of course they did not report it. It might have helped Hillary and hurt Obama.

I know that's not fair, but this guy just screams "dead mistress in a storm drain" to me. He's kennedyesque!
