Report: Former Presidential Candidate John Edwards Faces Indictment for Campaign Violations

WASHINGTON -- Prosecutors can seek an indictment against former North Carolina Senator and two-time Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards for allegedly using campaign donations to cover up an extra-marital affair and love child, ABC News reported late Tuesday.
The network, citing sources, said the Department of Justice has given the go-ahead for Edwards to be prosecuted and the former politician has been informed of the development.
Edwards may now accept a plea deal or face trial.

Even if he cops a plea and makes a deal, prison time HAS to be included.
The $1,000,000 in campaign funds he 'misused' in hiding his girlfriend and (gag) 'lover child' isn't chump change, and to get off with probation would be a miscarriage of justice. So no. Johny has to go off to Club Fed.
My only disappointment is it won't be in Marion, IL were John Gotti was sent. As at Marion even the Teflon Don had to hire protection. He was getting his head banged by 'Holder's People' and wound up paying the Aryan Brotherhood $50,000 a year for protection. (He worked out a Hit deal w/ the AB but it never went off)
The 'Breck Girl' would have to pay $10K a month to the AB for protection, or he'd never be able to sit down again.

This may present the paradox that ends the world. Edwards may wind up in two places at once. Both in the squad car as he’s arrested AND chasing the squad car in pursuit of a new court case.

But it is not the only legal trouble he faces. A former aide, Andrew Young, says he has a videotape and pictures showing Mr. Edwards and Ms. Hunter having sex. Ms. Hunter has sued to get them back and said that Mr. Young used them to secure deals for a book and film. Mr. Young had pretended for a while to be the child’s father to protect Mr. Edwards. He wrote about the experience in a tell-all book, “The Politician.”
Mr. Young is being represented in Hollywood by Ari Emanuel, brother of Rahm Emanuel, the new mayor of Chicago.
Now, I think we should all take a moment to reflect on this, and show ourselves to be bigger people by NOT gloating or expressing any joy or pleasure over this news. We are, after all, adults, and better people, and, and, and....

She (Mrs Edwards) used her cancer as a POLITICAL CRUTCH, counting on the sympathy/empathy vote to get her scumbag, two-timing, effeminate, limp-wristed, bimb-chasing, butt-munching Breck Girl of a husband elected - IOW, she KNEW her Earthly time was severky limited (basically, ALL of us are), and STILL tried to foist the douchebag on us as President - and WE’D be stuck with him after she was long gone...(Come to think of it...he MIGHT have been a slight improvement over “Pres_ent Marxy-Marx Skidmarx”, after all we KNOW Edwards was at least BORN here...)
I have to admit, I “felt” bad (brr...my liberal side trying to worm its way through - down, boy, DOWN, I say) when I heard she was diagnosed with that disease; it’s a horrible thing, and as a humn being, you do feel compassion for someone so afflicted.

THAT brief momenty of sentimental Hale-ian Humanity ended when she used it as a political tool. She went from object of sympathy to Full Throttle Piece o’ Feces to me in the blink of an eye.
And you know what?
