Cain we talk?
Augusta Chronicle ^ | May 26, 2011 | Editorial Staff

He will struggle for name recognition and money. He may have to split Tea Party votes with Michele Bachmann. And the media may be loath to warm up to a black conservative.

But anyone who saw Georgia's Herman Cain stirringly announce his candidacy for president Saturday in Atlanta knows this guy is the real deal -- and deserves a shot at the Republican nomination for the White House.

We eagerly admit being onto Herman Cain before a lot of others, having endorsed him for the U.S. Senate from Georgia in 2004, when we called the previously unknown and never-elected Cain "a superstar in the making."

A focus group after the first GOP presidential debate in South Carolina recently voted Cain the winner -- and catapulted him to legitimacy in many eyes.

It won’t be as hard as one thinks.

All the Republicans have to do is show all the times Obama was a no show and all the negative stuff that has happened on his watch.

That’s not hard.

Listen? You mean that’s all that’s needed are words like ‘hope and change’ and the inmates go wild? Where was his action - his fight for these past 2.5 years for our country?

Let’s get real - he’s been ABSENT other than speaking loudly about one thing -he AGREED with Barry to not show the photos of bin laden that Americans had the right to see. Only the elite were allowed to see them. Your candidate of choice can go suck rocks - he offered NOTHING these past 2.5 - he only wants. Nothing conservative about that.

I see you have a major control problem! Since you can’t handle the truth - you’re nuts to think I’m going to stop posting it.

Perhaps you need time out and grow some thicker skin - obviously not thick enough for politics.

Cain is NOT a leader - he’s a wuss afraid of the media for these past 2.5 years. He clearly doesn’t even know how to fight like a girl, much less a man. Maybe he’s going for McCain’s record as the media darling and agreeing with Barry.

Give it a rest and go flip your minnow kid.

about anyone

Anyone or those who have not fought for this country these past 2.5 years. Let's keep it honest.

It’s boring.

You must enjoy boring - your candidate been napping all along and woke up thinking 'I'll run for president'. Ho hum time for another snooze after he makes sure everyone heard him proclaiming no photos for the sheep/peon voters.

You sure are arrogant to think that you get to decide who was “fighting” and who wasn’t. Just because YOU never heard of Cain doesn’t mean he hasn’t been “fighting”.

Cain is simply unelectable

I heard these same similar accusations 35 plus years ago about Reagan. He later won 49 of the 50 states and became President... and was a DAMN good one.

I suggest you open your eyes and see the possibilities, and that included CAIN.
