Naked man accused of slamming truck into home
SOUTH BERWICK, MAINE -- A man is under arrest, accused of taking a dangerous drive, slamming into a house and nearly hitting a child inside.
“Basically my dining room and my kitchen are now in my living room,” said Wayne Landers.
It’s bad enough that Wayne Landers' refrigerator and dishwasher are smashed and strewn in the middle of his home.
“This structural piece is here…is where the dishwasher used to be,” said Landers.
What's worse -- minutes after the crash, he was confronted by a naked man.
“I'm thinking a bomb or an electrical storm hit and all of a sudden there’s a naked guy coming at me,” said Landers.
It was late Wednesday night. Police say the driver of a red one-ton dump truck plowed right into Landers' South Berwick condo.
“I was totally discombobulated. My son was screaming,” said Landers.
Landers, a single father, grabbed his 7-year-old son and handed him to a neighbor.
“I sent my son to my neighbor right here,” said Landers.
But when Landers turned around, that’s when he says a stark naked was coming after him.
“He was running at me completely naked telling me, ‘Come on, come on.’ With rage in his eyes, and he was swinging punches at me,” said Landers.
The man, it turns out, was the driver of the truck. By the time police arrived, the driver had kicked out a window and had tried reversing and driving through the home.
The damage is severe, but Landers says there is so much to be grateful for.
“All the people and all the animals that survived. I guess everything else can be replaced,” said Landers.
Within all the mess, the family was able to find their pet turtle as well as their cat.
The driver of the truck has been arrested on a variety of charges, including assault and operating under the influence.

When I have too much to drink I just laugh and fall asleep.
It's never occurred to me to get naked and drive the car into peoples homes. Think of all the fun I've missed!

In situations like these I assume alcohol was involved unless specifically stated otherwise.
