U.S. State Department Warns Turkey Over Planned Gaza Flotilla

The Obama Administration has released a statement to the Turkish government warning about their involvement with a new flotilla to Gaza. According to State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner, "Groups and individuals who seek to break Israel's maritime blockade of Gaza are taking irresponsible and provocative actions."

Israel and the International community, including the United States, support a maritime blocakde to prevent the smuggling of arms which may be used against civilian populations. Toner added, "We have made clear through the past year that groups and individuals who seek to break Israel's maritime blockade of Gaza are taking irresponsible and provocative actions that entail a risk to their safety. I think I've talked about this specifically."

We should partner with Israel and sink every ship if they refuse boarding and inspection. Any ship found with arms should be sunk and allow passengers to debark on any rafts or small boats they have. Otherwise, go down with the ship.

Why does anybody have to run a blockade set up by Israel to get to Gaza? Unload the contraband in Egypt and truck it a few miles overland to the now much relaxed border between Egypt and Gaza.

Unless, of course, the Turks WANT the confrontation.

It is not wise to stir up the Israelis too vigorously. They have of responding that is totally assymetrical.
