Chris Wallace on Palin Interview: First Time I Ever Thought ‘This Women Is A Serious Candidate’
MediaIte ^ | 6.5.11 | Matt Schneider

Posted on 06/05/2011 12:13:24 PM PDT by rface

After interviewing Sarah Palin, Chris Wallace talked about her with his panel of guests and revealed that he was very impressed with her appearance. Unlike previous times when he interviewed her, Wallace noticed “this wasn’t just ‘you betcha’ – she was pretty sharp on the issues.”

Wallace was eager to see if anyone else agreed with his review of Palin’s interview:

“I thought she was a boffo performance today. It was the first time that I ever saw her and thought ‘this woman is a serious – if she decides to run – candidate for President. And a serious possibility to be President.’”

I never said “she’s not very bright”, or anything like it. In fact, if I had to give an opinion, I would say that I think she’s a fairly savvy person.

Oh, so it's now damning with faint praise?

Pretty good for a n00b. We'll keep an eye on you and see how your posting history progresses.

Actually, you must be very smart. Very smart indeed. There’s an “obvious tell”, as you say. You not only have a whole lot of vanity posts, but you have very thoughtfully compiled them on your FR homepage. I’m sure they are scintillating reading for your many followers.

I don't know about followers, I don't even have a blog. I write because ideas occur to me and I have go get them out before I burst; cf Isaac Asimov's comparison of his writing technique to P.G. Wodehouse: "That happens to me over and over. Some writers work out the stories in meticulous detail before starting, and stick to the outline. P. G. Wodehouse does it, I understand, and I worship his books. But just the same I don’t. I work out my ending, decide on a beginning and then proceed, letting everything in- between work itself out as I come to it."

I keep the vanities on my homepage so that I know where to find them: I usually write them on the "Post" page on FR, rather than writing them elsewhere and cutting-and-pasting. So if I didn't save them, I wouldn't even be able to remember where they were.

But you're more than welcome to read through any of them at your leisure, I don't just write about Palin.

As for me, I dropped out of school in kindergarten—the second day. I couldn’t get the hang of recess. I pick up cigarette butts out of urinals for a living. (if you get a fairly dry one, as happens now and again, you can usually get a few puffs out of it—bonus!). Right now, I ‘m just killing time on FR waiting for someone to come along who can help me tie my shoes this morning. Then I get to ride on the short bus...Wheeeee!

How's that Hope and Change working out for you then? You might want to consider going to see The Undefeated when it comes out, then. Maybe, if your PDS is strong enough, you could get the X-rated version as described on Pollitico.

Cheers!

Well, there was Earl and "Doc", and six other kids, some girls. Not sure who the brother in Shreveport was.

It was quite a dynasty.

Here’s the deal...if Ron Paul is on the ballot he will get my vote. Life long republican but I’ve had enough.

Ya’ll got to get over this Palin LOVE....this is getting ridiculous.

That's odd: given your prior posts, I think you'd be eager to vote for the candidate of "Drill, Baby, Drill". How's your trucking company coming along?

Cheers!

Voted for Bush...Twice
Maybe he does have the oil companies in his back pocket.....he seems to have no clue what the average citizen is going through. My business is based on trucking and my rates are locked in. I am now losing money on everything I transport. Rail companies have exploited the situation even more.
Republicans get a clue...QUICKLY, or we will see Reid and Pelossi as our majority leaders.

I have yet to entertain the thought that Chris Wallace is a serious journalist. Just sayin'.

I hope so. I'm jumping up and down and waving my arms but the keepers of the lightning haven't responded.

TOL, *PING* to you for post #224 if you can help get other people's attention (ZOT!)

Cheers!

So far I think the poster concerned with #214 is OK; it's the one concerned with #224 that I'm looking at dubiously.

Cheers!

Yes, the one responded to in #224 seems to be spouting all the
old retread talking points. I wonder if Jim or the admin moderator have noticed that. Aren’t they the official zot-ers?

I’m not sure where all the keepers of the lightning bolts are
this time of night!

However, I am but an observer at this point.....:)

Grey_whiskers has assembled some posting history of a Paulbot PDS troll at Post #224, FYI.

‘Mommy, can we keep riding around in this big bus, until you get tired and decide to write another book? When can we do another TV show?’ Ya’ll got to get over this Palin LOVE....this is getting ridiculous. Yeah, I’m a Ronald Reagan Republican and I’m sick of listening to Palin with the ah shucks gimmick she is working....move on.

This is the first time I have had any 'contact' with you and I'm sick of listening to you.

You're a Republican, alright, and like all dinosaurs, I'd be looking out for that comet/asteroid if I were you.

eventually, she will have to go on the other networks. It's there she will sink or swim.

No she doesn't. She never has to go on any network and not doing so will not hurt her at all. If she were smart, and I think she is brilliant, she will tell the lame stream media to go pound sand even when she is president.

I think she should serve notice that she will stand for no more media BS and the next snarky interview a reporter tries to give her will be the last contact that reporter will ever have with her again.

Sarah's right. She owes them nothing and should render unto them exactly what they deserve.

Rubio's not qualified because he's not a natural-born citizen.

Didn't stop Obama (not that that's right, mind you).

libbylu..having some fun. You sound like the guy who, after he says something stupid, gets called on it, and then says,"Hey, I was just kidding, it was a joke."

People wonder why her negatives are so high. Maybe because alot of us are fatigued with the nightly appearances on FOX

You watch FOX nightly?

the book tours

You've been to these book tours?

the reality shows

You've watched these reality shows?

the bus tours

You followed her around on her bus tour?

No wonder you're fatigued. I have done none of those things. I think you need to get a life.

Hey Sarah, get off the bus, get off Fox and RUN for office, or let the other candidates have the spotlight. That simple.

Hey, OregonTide, I think you need to get off your high horse. The other candidates have all the spotlight they have earned and can get.

That simple.
