Chronic unemployment worse than Great Depression

About 6.2 million Americans, 45.1 percent of all unemployed workers in this country, have been jobless for more than six months - a higher percentage than during the Great Depression.

I just got done with Amity Schlaes’ book. The Forgotten Man.
After reading that I considered FDR a destroyer. If it was not for the Second World War, the Great Depression would have gone into the 1970’s and maybe beyond.
