A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows President Obamas approval rating, which increased in the wake of the killing of Osama bin Laden last month, has dropped back to the same level it was before one of the most important events of Obamas presidency. The poll shows Obama is in a dead heat with former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in a potential match-up (49 percent for Romney to 46 for the president).

Translation: Stick a fork in the Obama White House, he is cooked.
A 3-point lead for the Republican is a “dead heat”. Words do have meaning, don’t they?
Same link to IAG and European Sharia.
Same link to Soros.
I think it's high time he got to know how all of us feel about his "golf match" with the stain and also how we feel about his caving in (the stain calls it "compromise") to the stain's demand for a debt ceiling increase.
In short, we need to let him know that there will be NO DEBT CEILING INCREASE AT ALL!
Should there be one, bohn-your can leave the vaunted halls of congress along with the rest of his dem/lib/prog/pop and rino buddies and buddy-ettes and go teach at a small liberal art college where he belongs.
Don’t you know if it were 49 Obama to 46 Romney they would call it an “unsurmountable lead” for the _resident?
Two things to take away here:
First, most voters are not paying attention.
Second, Obama’s numbers on the economy are his doom.
Don’t you know if it were 49 Obama to 46 Romney they would call it an “unsurmountable lead” for the _resident?
-——I think it’s high time he got to know how all of us feel about his “golf match”———
Oh come on. Nitpicking twaddle about a golf match. Not only do you not know what might have been discussed in an informal setting, You apparently don’t understand that those with opposing views can actually discuss the issues.
Twaddle, blather, drivel, balderdash.
We don’t need Romney.
In January 2009, the official U.S. unemployment rate was 7.6 percent. Today it is 9.1 percent.
When Barack Obama took office, the number of “long-term unemployed” in the United States was approximately 2.6 million. Today, that number is up to 6.2 million.
When Barack Obama was sworn in, there were nearly 32 million Americans on food stamps. Today, there are more than 44 million on food stamps.
According to the U.S. Census, the number of children living in poverty has gone up by about 2 million in just the past 2 years.
When Barack Obama took office, the U.S. national debt was 10.6 trillion dollars. Today it is 14.3 trillion dollars.
Only 66.8% of American men had a job last year. That was the lowest level that has ever been recorded in all of U.S. history.
Just since August 2010, 2 million more Americans have left the labor force.
In 2010, more than a million U.S. families lost their homes to foreclosure for the first time ever, and that number is expected to go even higher in 2011.
The U.S. dollar has fallen by 17 percent compared to other major national currencies since 2009.
Glad to see this, but I`d sure like to see someone besides Romney in a competitive position vs. Obama. That said, overall it`s great news.
The GOP field may start to shift after the next debate. It will have more of the real contenders than the last debate had.
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann,
businessman Herman Cain,
former House Speaker Newt Gingrich,
Texas Rep. Ron Paul,
former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty,
former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and
former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum
will participate in the June 13 CNN debate on the campus of Saint Anselm College.
Looks like Romney’s lurch to the left (global warming, romneycare) is paying off with indies and soft dems.
Too bad there is a thing called the Republican primaries. Where he is basically tied with Palin.
Purely name recognition. Indy voters have no idea what Romney has stated in recent weeks. He is unlikely to be the nominee too many other good options without the baggage.
That’s a nice run down of stats you got there. Easy to copy/paste into lib media comment sections. I’d add gas prices as well.
The MSM is telling the brain dead to vote for Romney if you are not voting for Obama.
Three and a half conservatives, two liberals and a nutcase. Interesting field.
.....and gasoline was $1.83 a gallon when Obummer was sworn in on January 20th, 2009.
Yes, Obama is toast!!! Democrat Party has very short time to broom him!!! If they do not broom him, they will go down with him!!!
No we don’t, and myfirst pick is sarah cain or bachann, but i will easily take Romney over Obama if push comes to shove.
A 40% Romney is better than a 0% Obama. hell, I will vote for an aids infected homeless bum bathing in Penn Station sinks over obama if given the choice.
That works for me as well. I'm simply amazed at the FReepers who indicate they wouldn't vote if the candidate isn't conservative enough. After watching zero destroy the country...with that attitude they are as bad as obumbo supporters...actually worse..they should know better!
THE MEDIA IS TRYING TO SELECT THE GOP CANDIDATE FOR US - MITT (freakin’) ROMNEY
I don't qualify on the “aids”, however, due to entitlements that gives me a laptop with wireless, I can offer my services as a Presidential candidate for the rest of your description.
My campaign stump will be “A clean sink in every station”.
Considering the economy, I should garner enough votes.
“I’m simply amazed at the FReepers who indicate they wouldn’t vote if the candidate isn’t conservative enough.”
I’m simply amazed that you’d consider Romney as a final choice, and that you wouldn’t work extremely hard to avoid this scenario.
It is like your’re already settled in on this.
Your going down the same path the left went down when it became obvious that Obama was the Dem ticket.
You missed the point in all of this...it is Ideological. If you support Social Progressives like John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney, they are the same Ideologically as Obama. They get the USA to the same Socialist-Marxist-Globalist destruction point, only slower than Obama wants to get us there. Conservatives don't surrender to bigger government only to beat Obama. We want out country back! Smaller government, less taxes, repeal ObamaCare, stop endless foreign wars, halt illegal immigration, sound currency, etc. ROMNEY will continue the Obama legacy toward Globalization.
Blech. Is that you Lucy? As for the economy OB has plenty of time for a Damascene moment on the road to 2012 in re energy supplies, IF the GOP hasn’t staked a strong claim first.
All anyone has to do t beat Obama is start showing charts. Start with the one Obama created himself showing the jobless rate with and without his stimulus and overlay a chart of the actual employment rate. In the closing months of the election the opponent can make a big splash updating the chart each month.
I consider anyone on this site as willing to stay home next November as no better than the most psychotic lib marching to the Hope & Change drum beat for obama.
I can’t stand Romney, but if it becomes obvious he is in the best position to beat obama, no way in hell I stay home.
I prefer cain, sarah, or bachmann, but if either of them dont get the nod - my dissappointment wont extend to my staying home and giving obama a second term.
I'm feeling very fortunate that those at Valley Forge didn't settle for anything.
You sound desperate, someone I wouldn't want in the trenches next to me.
Go to DU, convince them that Romney is there only choice, then you'll be in fine company.
Bed wetters. Sad to see. Your hate is blinding you.
I would consider anyone already talking about Romney in a manner that they have no choice between now and the end of the primaries as hysterical.
Why don't you save your doom rants for the final determination of the candidate to run against Obama.
If at that time someone says they won't vote for Romney, he being the choice, rant on. There will be no words from me.
Your castigation's, at this point, serves no purpose.
Just a word of warning. Anyone can post on his wall. It’s got lots of idiot lib trolls on it.
Will you also donate money and canvas the neighborhood and put up yard signs? Reluctant voters is a sure sign of an impending loss. Just ask McCain.
No, i am going off the 100% club on this site who promise to stay home unless their pet candidate wins.
They are like 5 y/o stamping their feet in the middle of the isle at a toy store when they don’t get wat they want.
For me - the issue is one thing and one thing only - getting obama out of office. If I a forced to vote for a convicted serial killer to do it, I will.
For some people while for others statistics have no meaning.
Boehner, a weak, effete, Republican elite, is the natural ally of idiot lib trolls.
With that focus, you might very well get your wish...”convicted serial killer”.
I loathe McCain. I didn't give up until he was my only choice against Obama. And, yes I voted for McCain.
I loathe Romney. I will not give up until he is my only choice against Obama. And, yes I will vote for Romney.
I simply won't give up until then, and I'll reserve my comments for those that won't vote at that time.
What is happening on this thread is divisive and premature.
At this point in his Presidency the economy was growing at 6.5% under Ronald Reagan. It is growing at 1.8% under Obama.
All imsaying is we need to focus on getting obama out of office and support whoever the gop primary voters nominate.
I will vote for Sarah is she ruins, then cain, and then bachmann in that order for gop primary, but if they dont win, I am still going to do whatever I can to get barry the hell out of there.
“At this point in his Presidency the economy was growing at 6.5% under Ronald Reagan. It is growing at 1.8% under Obama.”
Does this mean that Obama has a more conservative approach to economic recovery than Reagan? /sarc
“Does this mean that Obama has a more conservative approach to economic recovery than Reagan? /sarc”
Maybe I shouldn’t have said this.
It’ll probably be part of Obama’s next teleprompter speech.......”A conservative, long term, lasting approach to economic recovery!”.
You heard it here first.
And I consider anyone willing to vote for Romney as no better than a lib, because that is who you will be voting for. Don't give me this 100% strawman crap. If the Republican candidate, whomever it is, is willing to go more in the conservative direction than liberal, I'll vote for them. I guess that would make me a 50.1%er. Romney, however, is NOT A CONSERVATIVE. In fact, he may have more success with moving this country to the left with a Republican congress than Obama would.
I think all the "approval gap" crap is absurd.
It DOES NOT MATTER how many Americans "strongly disapprove" of Obama, unless that number is where it should be (>90%).
What is CRITICAL is that the "approve + strongly approve" numbers are way too high, taking into consideration that some of the "disapprove" numbers disapprove because we don't have full communism already.
This is going to end badly, however you slice it.
Fine stay home and pout if he wins. I dont want him as my pick, but if he wins the nomoination by, GOP PRIMARY VOTERS, than it is what it is.
Did you stay home in 2000 and 2004 and 2008?
>>I dont want him as my pick, but if he wins the nomoination by, GOP PRIMARY VOTERS, than it is what it is.<<
Ann Coulter said it best:
You want Christie?
