Ms. Bachmann COULD have corrected this last
night. She screwed up her first 3 AM call.
She is not ready.

I don’t think I have ever seen so many failures to launch in a GOP cycle ever. Rollins remarks I think might have fatally killed bachmann’s campaign. It was a stupid, unneeded comment. unforced error.

Bachmann’s appointment of Ed Rollins reveals her lack of judgement. The appointment of team members is the first test of the good judgement of any leader. BM has flunked her first test.

This was your first indication?
Too many people fall in love with the rhetoric and not the gravitas behind it.

I speculate that it is a symptom of a deficit of independent judgment. On a scale that represents "inside the GOP," Bachmann is more (inside) compared with Palin, and Bachmann's tapping of Rollins was, I think, an insider's move taken on the basis of advice from insiders.
My sense is that Bachmann's political ambition is in charge of her decision-making, at the moment. She's in it for herself.

We’ve seen and heard thousands of observations and analysis from Palin. I’ve seen/heard basically nothing from Bachmann. What is it about her that gets her up in the Presidental Contender ranks? I just don’t know.

Seeing the hurried/harried Presidential run announcement by Bachmann a few weeks back, who has no experience in national or statewide office, I almost get the sense that the ‘Bachmann candidacy’ has been a ‘contrived’ candidacy by the establishment to derail a Palin run.
To: Diogenesis
bachmann was never ready... she and her husband both worked for carter and that should tell you something about her judgment... regardless of what she says today. Being a dim is a mistake that one can recover from easily... but working for and promoting the second worse president in the history of the USA... THAT is a major problem and one that she cannot just explain away as youthful indiscretion.

I love the Palin team’s response
I would VERY MUCH like to see a meeting with Palin and Bachman sometime soon
Together they would be unbeatable.
Then they call Herman Cain and ask him to be part of the team.
so it is Palin/Bachman, for 8 years
Then Bachman/Cain for 8 more
Then Cain/Rand Paul
Then Paul/Rubio
(I can dream, can’t I?)

May 18, 2011: HANNITY: And welcome back to “Hannity.” Continuing to join us tonight, former Alaska Governor, Fox News contributor Sarah Palin.
Governor, a lot of people, last time I spoke to you, I was asking, you know, where are you in this process of making your decision? And you said you wanted to assess the field. The field change quite a bit. Where are you today?
PALIN: Still assessing the field because I know it is still going to change, the line-up. People are going to come and go before that legal deadline is imposed on us to have to make the decision. So, I’m still not ready to make an announcement.

Tea Party. And she blew it by selecting Rollins. Maybe she is angling for a VP spot.

I agree with those Freepers who contend that the Bachmann candidacy is an attempt by the Republican party hierarchy to use the ambitious congresswoman as a way to derail a possible run for the GOP presidential nomination by Sarah Palin. For all the giddy 'Palin/Bachmann' talk, two females are not going to be at the top of the 2012 Republican presidential ticket. It would be hard enough to get one female elected president (preferably Palin) but two is simply not realistic. That Bachmann hired Ed Rollins, a longtime GOP insider, is telling. Rollins immediate bashing of Sarah Palin pretty much exposes the plan to use a Bachmann candidacy to block Palin. I liked Michelle Bachmann. Now, she is relegated to the 'scratched' column. Too bad.
