Its almost as if some think Perry is worst than obama!

No, it is because we deserve better. Perry is barely a RINO on a good day which you should know. Sure, he's better than Romney but so is my cat. We deserve the likes of Palin, Cain, and West. From this Texan, Perry can take a swim in his hair gel.

I tend to see Perry as a more laid back person without the intense ambition/drive to be President. I just don’t see him wanting the scrutiny and invasion of privacy necessary to seek the job. The 50-50 at best is where I’d put him if that high. He’ll enjoy the immediate attention but not sure he wants the other that goes with it.

If Perry gets in he'll be in it to win. The buzz is that when he starts traveling he's getting ready to rumble. He has upcoming trips to Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans and a governor's prayer breakfast in Houston.

Uh...that was the Texas Freepers...

I also read the other thread, and as a Texas Freeper, I have my own viewpoint.

There is a lot of stuff to say about Perry. Where to start? There are people more conservative than he is, especially in Texas. I am one of them. But, on a national spectrum, he is quite a ways to the right.

His major flaw, I believe, is that he is a career politician. As such, he is too enamored with what government can do for people and not concerned enough about what government does to people. Hence, some of his big government schemes like the Trans-Texas Corridor. But he is solid Texan by culture and has a lot of leave-me-alone instincts. He is an Aggie, and any Freeper would feel right at home politically at A&M.

On a ten point scale with McCain a 2 and Reagan a 10, I would put him around 6-7. Romney as a 2, Palin and Herman Cain as 9's, Pawlenty as 5-6. I would find it very easy to vote FOR him in the general, and might vote for him in the primary.

As was said on the other thread, don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

I think Perry doesn’t get all the credit for what he did try to do on the border. Look up Operation Rio Grande and Operation Linebacker

Operation Rio Grande was started in 1997 during W's governorship. How can you say with a serious face that either program has done one bit of good. There's more illegals crossing today than when Gov. Goodhair took office.

As FOX news said yesterday morning, the nation is not ready for another Texan president. This Texan agrees.

Houston is the Texas RAT's mecca. Can't say much better about the others on that list.

One of Romney’s chief assets is his Presidential good looks—a much-overlooked asset for any candidate.

While Perry may not be quite in Romney’s league in this regard, he looks the part more than most of the others in the race.

I didn't, as I said in many posts, both attempts were blocked by the Federal Government.

Are you serious? After all these years, you have yet to figure out how to look back at your own posts?

Ok, I’ll walk you through it. It’s really complicated. Are you paying attention? Here goes - click the “To 39” at the previous post.

Houston metroplex is more than downtown Shelia Jackson-Lee country "bgill." I know because I live here. Houston is 4th largest city in the country.

The event in Houston is a Prayer Summit and he has invited all governors to attend.

I’ve made about 10 posts to this thread. But you find it offensive that I’d ask whether there is anything to and thus potentially problematic with a fairly widespread rumor? Another Freeper had said there’s nothing to it, which I’d find believable.

But the Texas GOP has a stronger anti-gay plank than any other state GOP platform, and Perry has been pretty outspokenly anti-gay himself, so I’m sure it’s an angle that’d be tried.

Yeah well, due to their own actions, inaction and lack of genuine leadership, they brought the feast on themselves. So bad, half the country no longer believes a word said from either party.
