NEW YORK Foes and supporters of embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner yelled at each other in front of the New York Democrat's district office on Sunday as congressional leaders called on Weiner to resign because of his sexting scandal.

I just read this a.m. that the good folk of Queens were cheering him as he strolled around (hopefully in a non-tumescent state, but maybe his Viagra hadn’t worn off and all the chicks loved seeing his dirty undies with their pathetic bulge).
Mark my words, he’s a hero to the Dems and he won’t quit or be removed. He may be redistricted out, but I wouldn’t even count on that.
..stand by:...more “news” comes this week
Is Anthony’s middle name Dick or Dutz?
Overheard during the heated debate, from a Weiner supporter:
Ok, so he’s a pervert, but he’s OUR pervert. He stays.
I think maybe I should avert my eyes...
Rangel is still representing New York in Congress; his constituency gave him an overwhelming mandate to continue service after strong evidence of various types of money fraud. If NY9 survives, then it is likely that Weiner will get a similar electoral nod.
I think because of the Obama style tie that’s offensive. ; )
He won't resign and if he loses the election in 2012 he will sue all the way up to the supreme court. He is the quintessential democrat and a poster boy for what's wrong for Washington.
That is curious, no ?
Ah, the remaining few moralists in New York are calling for Weiner to resign. Sorry, but there are way too many feeding at the government trough to allow this to happen.
Politics today has little to do with anything except “What can you do for me?”, and so we will continue to elect crooks and liars to keep the gravy flowing. Democracy by the people only works when the moral folks outnumber the immoral folks. When the scales tip and the immoral people can vote themselves largess...then yes, the US is doomed to become just another banana Republic.
I know. It’s incredible that Rangel survived, but obviously NYC Dems don’t care.
I remember that when Al Sharpton was charged with tax evasion because he was taking money given to his “church” and spending it on tacky Caddies and bling, the government lost the case because virtually all of the witnesses (mostly impoverished little black grannies) said that they knew he was spending it on himself but that was ok because he was a black preacher and they thought he deserved it.
What passes for a mind among Dems is a little hard to fathom.
Hey! We should all look so good in our forties. I nominate both of them to write articles about their diet and fitness regimens at GQ and Men’s Fitness.
No. They’re not calling for his resignation. And even if they were, they’re not. And even if they are, he won’t. But but but the polls show they still want him in office - and if the poll is wrong they’ll find another poll. And even if they are calling for him to resign, they all think lying about sex is OK, even if it is about a 17 year old girl. Just ask Janeane Garofolo.
56% say STAY and so do I!
The GOP needs him!
He and the Hare-lip could be the co-poster children
for ‘rat congressional behavior!
How could the right ask for more?
The article says two dozen against, one dozen for.
But, but, I though Weiner was saying 69% of the constituent calls to his office were begging him to stay on?
Probably. There is a possibility that his district will get redistricted out but I wouldn't bet on it.
He seems to have become a hero to the Dems, so I can't think of anyway he could lose.
Hey! Where did it go?
Funniest pic!!! I cannot stop laughing.
I bet eating pizza with a knife and fork doesn’t look so bad now.
Why do you think keeping him would be good for the GOP? We all know what Dems are like, so this won’t be news to anybody on our side, and obviously the Dems don’t care.
Believe me, if a GOPer had done either one tenth of what Weiner had done, he’d not only be out of a job, he’d be on his way to jail.
You have to realize that all things and all weenies are not equal.
I am so glad I stole a copy of that group shot before it was removed! HA ha ha ha ha ha ha!
My gosh. How long have you been waiting to use that word?
Well, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so maybe I should thank Congressman Weenie for giving me the chance...
Most of us have to work much harder than he does - it interferes with our gym schedules.
If he resigns, I can already see the headline: “Weiner out!”
My gosh. How long have you been waiting to use that word?I'm waitng for this one "non perpendicular transversal"
My gosh. How long have you been waiting to use that word?
I'm waitng for this one "non perpendicular transversal"
You just carved a good slogan: What’s wrong with Washington is what’s right for New York.
Yep - redistrict his rear-end outta there. Texas gets one or two of those districts. We pray they become new conservative districts!
The political commentators in DC have said that if he doesn't resign, he will be re-districted out in 2012.
That is, NY is going to lose 2 seats in Congress in 2012 - due to the 2010 Census. This means that they have to combine 2 districts into 2 other existing districts.
Prior to this, Weiner's district WASN'T going to be involved. NOW, it is - assuming he doesn't resign first.
They will re-district him into another district where the Representative is EXTREMELY popular. That Rep. will carry his EXISTING district by a mile and will ONLY need to win about 30% of Weiner's OLD district to win in the primary ...
“If he resigns, I can already see the headline: Weiner out!
Well, it does look like support is flagging...and he’s going to be facing a stiff re-election challenge, considering that he’s going to be in and out of the negative spotlight between now and 2012.
He should pull out while he’s ahead.
I wonder if his constituents who want to show their support shake his hand, knowing where it’s been.
He's not the retiring type!
He has a history of outdoing his last anti-GOP slander with a new, even bigger whopper that helps to brand the ‘rats as the scum that they are.
Much of my feeling about Weenie-Boy is based on the Alan Grayson experience in a neighboring district here in Florida. His outrages, including the immortal “Die quickly” helped to get out a huge anti-Grayson vote which made him a one-termer and I am sure helped other districts get out the vote to dump ‘rats.
Just accept the double standard. It exists and will never change anytime soon. The thing to do is to turn it back against them.
Hang in there, “Tough Tony.” You will be a big help to your enemies.
Sounds like DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is down on Wiener, too.
Unfortunately, Weiner is my congressman.
A Republican has a chance to win here if he seriously tried. Robert Turner was the first serious candidate and he won 40%. But I only knew about his campaign because he was mentioned in all the Weiner ads.
Ah, yes, Rev. Ike...I’d almost forgotten about that fraudster. Good analogy.
